[POV: Ruvan and Solenne]
A week had passed since they decided on the date for the Moon Ceremony, and now it was time for them to announce the official birth of their new pack.
Ruvan and Solenne were side by side with Thalos, a few steps behind, all standing on their balcony, which oversaw the courtyard where hundreds of wolves had gathered. The mass was comprised of those loyal to him, some who recently joined, and perhaps even a few outsiders who arrived in anticipation of the upcoming celebration.
The sky was beginning to darken, draping the frozen northern wolfland in the haze of dusk. It set the mood perfectly.
"Do you know what it feels like to be buried alive?" Ruvan asked loudly, beginning his impromptu speech. The entire gathering had been called on his whim, so nothing was prepared. "It's rhetorical, don't worry—I don't care. I know what it feels like to be buried alive… to be forgotten."
