In the sunset forest,
"A soul bone… this is truly rare!" Flender picked up a soul bone. He examined it carefully, calculating whether he should sell it or let his students absorb it.
"Dean Flender, don't tell me your thinking about money again?" ErLong raised her eyebrow. He was making the same stupid face he would always make whenever money was involved.
"Ahahaha, no no. Of course not." He laughed awkwardly and waved it off. Before handing it to Liu Yan.
"You and Ying Xuan decide between yourselves on who gets the soul bone. But for now, let's head back to the academy. We should not stay here for too long." Flender warned.
They quickly left Sunset Forest.
When they arrived back in Shrek Academy,
MuBai rushed towards the dormitory, so that he could thank Tang San personally.
Liu Yan remembered what was about happen when MuBai reaches his room, so he promptly turned around and walked away with Ying Xuan.
"How about we go to the garden?" He guided her awau without explanation.
"Okay..?"
"Youngsters these days, already being all lovey dovey and infatuated." Flender shook his head.
"I remember you being like that back then too" ErLong said smugly after placing one hand on her hip.
"I- We don't talk about the past." He replied in embarrassment.
In the garden of Shrek Academy,
Liu Yan and Ying Xuan walked with each other. Taking the chance to enjoy time together other than training.
"You know, Ying Ying. I never asked you this before, but. Your parents… are they still..?"
Ying Xuan looked at him, "I… don't know much about them."
"My parents, my mother, she was a fire phoenix. I don't know what happened to her."
Small tears began to form at the corner of her eyes,
"She just, she dropped me at the lake in the Star Dou forest. And never came back."
"It was Xiao Wu's mother who took care of me."
"Do you… miss them?" Liu Yan asked carefully.
"…No." She thought for a moment before saying that.
"My mother, she… she was just the one who gave birth to me. But I don't recall her ever being there for me. I was dropped at that lake when I was a ten year soul beast. She could never compare to Xiao Wu and her mother."
"They are my real family…" she said happily after wiping her tears away.
"You don't consider me part of your real family?" Liu Yan leaned and teased her.
"Hmph, stop teasing me." She smiled and pushed him away lightly with her wings.
Meanwhile, in Tang San's room.

Grandmaster pushed the door open, to find Tang San who only had a towel around his waist, and MuBai thanking him repeatedly for helping him break through so quickly. Not minding the awkwardness.
Oscar latched onto Tang San's leg,
"Xiao San! You have to help me get stronger!"
"Oscar, not the time!" Tang San held onto his towel tightly so it would not fall, while trying to shake him off.
Xiao Wu pulled at Oscar, "get off my brother!"
Tai Long was in the corner, wrapped in blue silver grass.
"… I think I'll head to bed already." Grandmaster said before turning.
"Teacher, help me!"

Whatever happened in that room, it would stay in it.
Half a year had passed by now,
Oscar was the third to reach Soul Ancestor.
"Yes! Ahahahaha, I reached level 40!" He boasted.
"How can this be! Of everyone, you got to be the soul ancestor first!" Ma HongJun could not believe it.
"Hehehe, I'm already aimingfor titled douluo you know." He snickered.
The second person was Zhu ZhuQing.
"How wonderful, my ZhuQing!" MuBai tried to congratulate her, and he was found with a red hand print on his face after.
The third was Tang San.
"Finally a level 40." He said.
"Brother San is the best!" Xiao Wu congratulated him.
Then followed by Ma HongJun.
"Hahahahaha! The great phoenix has finally spread his wings!"
And lastly, RongRong.
"My RongRong has gotten even more beautiful!" Oscar simped over her.
"Alright, since most of you already reached level 40. We'll set out to sunset forest to hunt for your fourth soul ring." Flender announced to them.
Liu Yan had also absorbed the head pieace soul bonefrom the Diamond Horned Viper. It was neat, using it came with the risk of getting hit in the head fatally.
But when utilised correctly, it could absorb 50% of kinetic energy from the attacker, boosting the next attack output.
The night before the departure,
Xiao Wu approached Tang San in the garden.
Liu Yan was woken up from his sleep, when he sat up and looked properly.
MuBai, Oscar and HongJun were all leaning against the door or windows to get a better listen or look at what was happening between the two outside.
"Liu Yan, care to join us?" MuBai asked
"Uhhh, I'd rather not."
"Suit yourself, we won't fill you in if anything happens." They continued to watch.
"Just make sure you dont get caught, unless you want to feel Xiao Wu's kicks again."
Liu Yan fell back down onto his pillow, getting his precious sleep.
