In the sunset forest, Liu Yan and Ying Xuan both sat with backs facing each other as they absorbed their respective soul ring.
In Liu Yan's mindscape,
The soul beast's resentment, of fighting tirelessly to get a meal, only to be killed by some random people that decided to interfere. It was increasing. Resentment from soul beast had to be settled in a fight, to make them submit, as to not cause backlash on the soul master.

He opened his eyes in the mindscape, it was an open ground with a bright sky, crystals scattered all over.

The diamond horned viper lunged at him from the back,
He jumped upwards, dodging it's fangs and landing on its body.
The hatred, in the viper's eyes were heavy.
It didn't waste time at all, the venomous mist expanded until it filled the mindscape completely.
"You really think this is going to stop me?" Liu Yan said, he just had to watch the shadows.
He unleashed his second soul skill, creating 3 crystal shields.
The viper lunged, he moved at it, it was a flawless plan, he just had to grab the viper when it gets disoriented.
His hand moved forward to grab it's body, but it phased through.
His eyes widened, a tail came from the side.

The viper's tail whipped at him, breaking one of his shields as he gets sent into a crystal cluster.
"H-how is so fast?!"
He got out of the crystal cluster and sent a punch again, it phased right through.
The viper appeared behind him and rammed into him.
His body flew like a ragdoll, hitting the ground repeatedly until he finally came to a stop.
The viper didn't relent its attacks. It's slimy body wrapped around him.
The pressure was intense, it was crushing him.

His entire body was bearing the crushing pressure now.
He screamed in pain as he tried to get out.
Aghhhh
Outside in the real world, he was sweating.
ErLong couldn't do anything, this was the most dangerous part of hunting soul beasts. Absorbing their soul rings when they have heavy resentment.
Ying Xuan's absorption was going smoothly.
She was almost done.
The viper coiled up tightly before raising its head, and opened its jaw wide.
Liu Yan stared into its mouth, the saliva and venom dripping down.
"I- I won't die like this!" He screamed as he punched it's body, but it didn't let go. The viper would kill its killer before passing on.
Then, he saw glint under his gauntlets… the Silent Kill Dart!
He aimed it carefully, before firing it.

The dart pierced into its eye. It uncoiled immediately and retreated back into the venomous mist.
He panted, he was close to certain death. This venom… it must have hallucinogens in it.
"I need to get high up!" He created the platform and went up.
He took deep breaths of air,
"That was too close…" Liu Yan muttered before looking at the silent kill dart. Then an idea clicked.
He went back down, started to observe the surrounding.
The viper was moving again, he may not be able to see the real one, but he can hear it.
He closed his eyes, and listened closely for sound.
From the right!
He used his third soul skill and fired to his right.
Hsssss!
The sounds of hisss came after the sound of popping of crystals.
"This… a gun will do nice in this world." He smirked.
The viper charged again, he created a pillar, and sent it onto the charging viper.

The viper thrashed immediately, it suffered a concussion.
Liu Yan created a giant upper half of a golem, and had it pin down the viper.
It thrashed, it's tail whipping repeatedly at the golem but to no avail.
Liu Yan looked into the eyes of the viper, before creating sharp crystal dripstones, and ramming them into the diamond horn of the viper. It hissed in pain.

The diamond horn was cut in half, the pain of having its horn cut off was too much for it. It went limp.
The mist slowly cleared up, as the mindscape got darker.
He was waking up.
When Liu Yan finally opened his eyes, Ying Xuan was looking at him with worry.
The moment she saw him open his eyes, the look of relief could be seen. She leaned over and hugged him.
"Xiao Liu, was the viper's resentment high?" ErLong suddenly asked.
"Ah, yes it was, Teacher ErLong."
"That explains it…" she gestured to the viper, the Silent Kill Dart was embedded in its body.
Liu Yan looked down and checked his wrist, it was really missing a dart.
"If it's intense enough, what I do in the mindscape can affect what I do in the real world…"
Rustle
The bushes rustled before MuBai and Flender stepped into the clearing.
"Heh, it seems you two got lucky with your soul beasts too." MuBai walked over and fist bumped Liu Yan.
"Anyways, show us the new soul skills"
"Ladies first~" Liu Yan said teasingly,
Ying Xuan pouted, he didn't have to say it like that.
Her wings spread outwards, as she readied herself. Without needing to jump, her crystal wings began to flap fluidly.
She flew upwards, before increasing in speed. She was very fast.
She was even able to make sharp turns.
"It was bound for her to have a flight skill." ErLong commented.
"Not only that, Teacher ErLong. I have high resistance to physical attacks when this soul skill is active!" She said excitedly. She could finally fly again.
"And Liu Yan?"
He nodded and stepped forward, mist seemed to cover the area. As Liu Yan disappeared into it. Some of them saw him appear behind them then in front of them. Ying Xuan saw three surrounding her, but she knew how to counter that. She flapped her wings hard, preventing herself from breathing in the mist.
Soon the mist dissipated,
"That's a very good soul skill you got, Liu Yan."
"Thank you, Dean Flender."
"Now. Let's head back befor-" Flender suddenly cut off as he stared at the the viper's horn.
It still radiated energy.
Flender and the other quickly moved forward,
"MuBai. Strike at the centre." He ordered.

The horn cracked and split. They pushed off one side and there laid… a soul bone.
