Chapter 24 - **Chapter 24: The Sawyer Family Secrets**

That guy was actually pretty skilled. He ditched the baggage and vanished in the blink of an eye. Roy didn't bother chasing after him.

"Roy, are you okay?"

Heather came running over, completely out of breath. The way her chest was moving reminded Roy of that massive earthquake scene in the movie "San Andreas."

"I'm fine! Heather, I managed to get your stuff back, but I didn't catch the kid."

Heather looked at Roy with gratitude.

"Just getting the things back is good enough! Roy, how were you running so fast?"

"Well, I used to be the quarterback for Oak High, but now I'm the boxer for Oak High."

Hearing this, Heather looked really surprised.

"Wait a minute! You're still a student?"

Roy shrugged and leaned his face closer to Heather's.

"Doesn't it look like it? Take a good look!"

Heather examined Roy's face closely, thinking his skin was incredibly smooth and he was handsome from every angle. As she looked, Heather's face started to blush.

"Yeah, you do look a bit like one, but I didn't get a student vibe from you. What grade are you in?"

That was true enough. Roy had already graduated in his past life, and it hadn't even been two months since he'd transmigrated. There was no way he'd have a student's aura.

"Senior year. I graduate next year."

Heather muttered softly to herself.

"Senior year? So that means you're already 18. Great!"

Roy didn't quite catch what Heather said.

"What's great?"

"Oh, nothing! Let's hurry up and take these things back inside!"

Even though she said it was nothing, Heather's face turned even redder, looking like a perfectly ripe apple that made you want to take a bite.

Roy carried the tableware back to the villa, and then he and Heather locked all the doors and windows before getting back in the car to go buy groceries.

"Phew, Roy, you helped me out again!"

By this time, the redness on Heather's face had faded a bit.

"So, can I ask for a little reward?"

Roy deliberately put on an expectant expression, and Heather looked at him with a smile in her eyes.

"What kind of reward are you thinking of?"

Roy tapped his cheek, making his meaning very clear.

Heather bit her red lip, her eyes darted around for a moment, and then she suddenly turned Roy's face and kissed him on the mouth.

Roy was taken aback for a second and quickly hit the brakes.

Luckily, they hadn't driven out of the Sawyer estate yet, or it would have been dangerous driving.

After a few minutes of passionate kissing, Heather looked at Roy with moist eyes, panting slightly.

"Your kissing skills definitely don't seem like a student's!"

"Maybe I'm just a fast learner. That's what all my teachers at school tell me."

Heather couldn't help but roll her eyes at Roy, but she couldn't hide the smile on her face.

"Hurry up and drive, it's getting dark!"

Roy brought Heather and the others to the town supermarket before it got completely dark. After inheriting a large fortune from the Sawyer family, Heather went on a big shopping spree in the supermarket. Her two companions also didn't treat Heather's money like it was their own, grabbing whatever caught their eye.

Roy didn't join in on the shopping but waited for the three of them to finish outside the supermarket entrance. Unexpectedly, Roy ran into Sheriff George again at the supermarket doors.

"Hey, Roy, what are you doing at the supermarket? Helping your family with groceries?"

"No, I'm just here with some new friends I made to do some shopping."

Hearing this, Sheriff George's expression turned serious.

"Are they the same people you met at the gas station this afternoon? What are they all about?"

Roy shrugged.

"The black-haired girl is here to inherit the Sawyer estate, you know, that 'Devil's Manor' you mentioned."

Sheriff George frowned deeply.

"Roy, you're a good kid, so I want to give you a heads-up. It's best to stay away from that girl!"

Roy looked interested.

"Why? Does it have something to do with the Sawyer family's past?"

"You know about this? Did your parents tell you?"

Roy shook his head.

"I guessed! After all, the Sawyer family owns such a big estate, they should have some influence around here, but I've never even heard of them. Something's definitely up."

George nodded.

"That's absolutely right! I won't lie to you, the Sawyer family is a messed-up family. Twenty years ago, the townspeople noticed that people were disappearing frequently. After investigating, they found out that all those people had died on the Sawyer estate! The angry residents took matters into their own hands and judged the Sawyer family privately. I was part of that. The entire Sawyer family has evil in their blood!"

A typical Western idea of inherited sin. Roy didn't believe in that kind of thing.

"Thanks, Sheriff George, I'll be careful."

Just then, Heather and the others finished their shopping and came out. Roy drove Heather home. Watching the two cars drive away in the sunset, Sheriff George's gaze deepened.

On the other side, Dale, who had successfully escaped the Sawyer estate, saw a frustrated Ryan by the side of the road.

"Ryan?"

"Dale, what are you doing here?"

Dale's eyes darted around for a second, and he started to smooth-talk Ryan.

"Don't even get me started. I got kicked out by that damn Southerner too! That guy's a complete psycho!"

Hearing this, Ryan immediately got worked up, feeling a sense of shared grievance.

"You think so too? Fuck! Heather must be blind to trust someone like that!"

"Ryan, are you just going to take this?"

Ryan was definitely not happy about it, and his expression turned gloomy.

"What else can I do?"

"Ryan, I've got an idea. I know where we can get a gun. Let's screw them over. Then you can do whatever you want!"

Ryan looked tempted. He thought about Heather's innocent face and sexy body, and he couldn't help but lick his lips.

Seeing that Ryan was interested, Dale quickly seized the opportunity.

"Just imagine Heather under that Southerner!"

Hearing this, Ryan gritted his teeth.

"Alright, I'm in! I'm gonna make sure I fuck Heather right in front of that Southerner!"

Dale grinned.

"Come with me."

Roy, who was having dinner at the Sawyer estate, had no idea that someone had already set their sights on the fish in his pond. But even if he did know, he'd just say, "You're out of your mind."

Just like Heather had said earlier, her cooking skills really weren't great. For dinner, they had some salad, a few pan-fried fish, and a pot of cream of potato soup. The pan-fried fish was even a little burnt.

But Roy didn't mind. He kept making Heather laugh at the dinner table, making her... well, let's just say things were getting lively.

As dinner was coming to an end, Nikki's phone suddenly buzzed with a text message. She glanced at it and stood up.

The others looked at Nikki, surprised.

"Nikki, what's wrong?"

"Uh, I just need to use the restroom."

With that, Nikki walked out of the dining room, but she didn't go to the restroom. Instead, she went to the small woods outside the villa.

"Is anyone there?"

It was already nighttime, and the dark woods looked a bit creepy. Suddenly, a figure grabbed Nikki from behind.
