Chapter 218 - Meeting the Xenos

"Leon, you must come to see me often when the time comes." Holding Leon's hand tightly, Wiene asked for a promise softly.

"Well, don't worry, I will come to see you often." Leon reached out and gently stroked her hair a few times, then smiled and promised.

"Yeah!" Wiene smiled brightly, her eyes gleaming with joy.

"Since it's agreed, let's act now as soon as possible." At this moment, Fels stepped forward and addressed Leon and Wiene.

"Yeah." Leon nodded.

Without wasting another second, the three of them departed into the night, heading toward the towering structure of Babel.

At this hour, the Tower of Babel was sparsely guarded. Even if some guards remained at their posts, it was a trivial matter for Leon and Fels to bypass them undetected. The group swiftly made their way into the underground entrance leading to the Dungeon.

They moved quickly, descending through the various floors toward the middle floors.

Perhaps it was the late hour or sheer exhaustion, but Wiene soon grew drowsy. Leon gently picked her up in his arms, letting her fall asleep peacefully against him.

"This child really depends on you." Fels murmured with some astonishment. "I've never seen a Xenos place this much trust in a human."

"Ah, yeah... I don't really understand it myself." Leon chuckled softly, watching Wiene sleep without a shred of fear.

"Maybe your presence has a kind of resonance with her. Maybe even other Xenos would feel the same."

Fels turned his hooded face toward Leon. "I've long considered approaching you to help bridge the gap between humans and Xenos."

Leon raised an eyebrow. "Bridge the gap? Why me?"

"Because I hope that Xenos and adventurers can one day coexist peacefully. For that, I need someone without hatred toward monsters. Someone powerful, influential... and empathetic. You fit every criteria."

"But so much has happened around you recently that I didn't find the right opportunity—until now."

Leon pondered for a moment, then smiled faintly. "So, I'm the poster boy for monster equality?"

Fels gave a small nod. "Exactly. Your neutrality and fame could create real change."

"Let's settle the Dionysus issue and the artificial maze first. Then, we can talk about peaceful coexistence." Leon replied without hesitation.

Fels didn't press further. "Very well. When the time comes, we'll revisit this."

They continued moving swiftly through the darkened Dungeon. In just over two hours, they reached the 20th floor.

Guided by Fels, Leon stepped into a previously unknown area cloaked in darkness.

Suddenly, with a surge of energy, the area lit up.

Countless monsters with humanoid appearances stared down at Leon from various cave terraces—gargoyles, lizardmen, and avian-like creatures among them.

At the forefront, three figures stepped forward.

"Welcome, Leon-sama!" sang the voice of a feathered singing bird. "I am Ray. Please give me your guidance."

"I am Gros." said a towering gargoyle respectfully. "Please teach us, Leon-san."

Leon noted the contrast between Gros's calm demeanor and his aggressive behavior from the original events with Bell. It was clear that Fels had briefed them well about Leon's power.

"I am Lyd, Leon!" The lizardman elite introduced himself in his usual rhythmic manner.

These three were clearly the leaders of the Xenos. Gros and Lyd were likely in the Lv. 4 to Lv. 5 range, while Ray's strength was uncertain but likely comparable.

Leon offered a gentle nod and introduced himself simply. His tone and composure immediately reassured the gathered Xenos.

They knew full well what was at stake. If Leon had come with ill intent, none of them would have survived.

Fels had warned them—Leon was capable of devastating area-wide magic and unparalleled close combat. Against such force, resistance would be meaningless.

"This is Wiene. I'll leave her in your care." Leon said with a warm smile, stepping forward to Ray and cradling the sleeping girl in his arms.

Ray lowered her head respectfully. "Thank you, Leon-sama, for bringing this child to us."

Due to her small wings, Ray couldn't hold Wiene herself. Instead, she called one of her companions.

A half-snake man slithered forward and gently accepted Wiene from Leon.

With Wiene safe, Leon sat down beside the three leaders.

"I assume Fels has explained why I'm here."

"He has." Ray replied for the group. "And we have no objections."

Leon's plan was simple: draw out the Ikelos Familia by having Xenos appear on the surface. The appearance of Xenos would be like blood in the water—bait too tempting for the Ikelos scum to ignore.

Ray, Gros, and Lyd nodded firmly.

Their brethren had been hunted and killed by those adventurers. They now knew exactly who was behind it.

If Leon could eliminate the Ikelos Familia, it would mean one less threat to their survival.

"We will assist however we can, Leon-sama." Ray added solemnly.

Leon nodded, his gaze calm but firm. "Then let's begin preparations. We'll make sure Wiene and the rest of your people are safe. And we'll put an end to the Ikelos Familia once and for all."

All of them present had no objection to Leon's plan, and even agreed with it.

During this period, many of their companions were killed. Before, they didn't know what happened and who killed them.

Now they know that it was the adventurers from the Ikelos Familia who caused it.

And Leon is now preparing to attack Ikelos Familia, so they naturally agree with it.

If they get rid of Ikelos Familia, they won't have to worry about their companions getting into trouble.
