Chapter 169 - Chapter 169 A Cannon That Will Self-Explode?

"Hmph! What? Are you scared now?"

Dosi, completely missing the disappointment in Kronos's voice, sneered arrogantly.

"Well, it's too late! Pirates, your end is here!"

With a smug smile, he glared at Kronos and the others with a twisted expression of triumph.

"How dare you filthy commoners speak to Lord Kronos that way!"

While Kronos remained indifferent to Dosi's barking, Albedo, standing beside him, couldn't tolerate the insult. She was just about to act when Kronos raised a hand.

"Albedo. Wait."

Hearing his calm order, Albedo obediently stepped back with a pout and retreated behind him.

The name "Kronos" seemed to ring a faint bell for Dosi. It felt familiar, but he brushed it off and didn't think further.

However, his adjutant, standing quietly nearby, noticed the name and discreetly signaled a subordinate to investigate it.

Dosi, still agitated by Albedo's earlier words, snarled:

"You arrogant little bh! When I catch you alive, I'll teach you a proper lesson!"*

He turned sharply to his men.

"Adjutant! Fire the cannon! Blow these pirates to hell! Show them the true power of the Bliss Cannon!"

"Yes, sir!"

His soldiers responded swiftly, loading the special shells into the Bliss Cannon with practiced efficiency.

Kronos remained calm, watching silently from the deck.

Seeing their captain so composed, Konan, Gojo Satoru, Pain, and the others didn't move either.

They didn't even glance at the cannon preparations.

As the shell was about to fire, Kronos raised his hand—a thin, invisible barrier of space formed around the Bliss Cannon.

Dosi and his men, oblivious to the barrier, mistook Kronos's inaction for fear.

"Hahahaha! Die, you damned pirates!" Dosi cackled wildly.

A soldier slammed the firing switch—

BOOM!!!

But instead of obliterating the pirates, the cannon exploded on the spot!

The blast echoed through the air, and the thick smoke and force formed a strange rectangular wall—twisting and churning within itself, contained as if held in place by some unseen force.

The soldiers stared, stunned.

Dosi's laughter died on his lips.

His once-arrogant face went pale as he stammered:

"W-What happened...? Why... why did the Bliss Cannon... explode?!"

What Dosi didn't realize was simple:

The cannon had fired—but the moment the shell left the barrel, it collided with Kronos's space barrier and detonated on contact.

To the onlookers, it merely looked like the cannon had catastrophically misfired.

"Huh. Your 'ultimate weapon' is more creative than I expected," Gojo Satoru said mockingly. "I thought it'd be a boring cannon—but turns out, it's a self-destruct model. Genius!"

He gave a slow, sarcastic thumbs-up.

Assac and Populen, holding the Kamui Pirates' flag behind them, burst into laughter.

Kronos gave the signal:

"Alright, begin. Civilians who don't resist can be left alone. Half of the royal family, officials, and soldiers are enough."

The games were over. He had no more interest in toying with them.

Why spare half?

Because Kronos didn't want to slaughter kingdoms—he wanted to control them.

You can't rule a kingdom if you kill everyone in it.

Without survivors to manage the land, there's no one to spread his name, fear, or power.

At that moment, Konan, Gojo, Pain's Six Paths, Banggu, and Uchiha Madara disappeared without a word.

Each one split off, moving into various sectors of the Bliss Kingdom, launching their attack.

Meanwhile, Dosi's adjutant received a report from his scout.

And the intel was terrifying.

Kronos—the man standing before them—was none other than the captain of the Kamui Pirates.

Wanted for 3.355 billion Berries.

The same Kronos who shook the world during the Summit War...

The one who turned Fish-Man Island into a forest of severed human heads.

"I—I knew it! That name sounded familiar! He's been all over the news..."

The adjutant's knees buckled.

Next to him, Dosi had already collapsed to the ground, his face ashen, a dark wet stain spreading from his crotch.

"Commoners, weren't you feeling bold when you insulted Lord Kronos just now?"

Albedo's chilling voice rang out as she appeared before Dosi.

Her crimson eyes locked on him with murderous intent.

Dosi couldn't speak. He could only crawl backward, trembling like a leaf.

Albedo's pure white arm gleamed as she casually waved her hand—

And just like that, the head of the Bliss Kingdom's defense forces was dead.

The adjutant, frozen behind Dosi, watched in horror.

He hadn't even seen what technique Albedo had used.

Everywhere in the kingdom, their forces were being wiped out—without resistance.

This wasn't war.

This was a massacre.

This was a one-sided slaughter.

There was nothing they could do.

As Albedo slowly approached him, the adjutant's chest heaved with panic.

Sweat poured down his face. His heart thundered with the certainty of imminent death.

Desperate, he dropped to his knees.

"I—I surrender! I swear allegiance to Lord Kronos of the Kamui Pirates!"

But Albedo barely acknowledged him.

To her, he was just another disposable insect.

She raised her arm—

But before she could strike, Kronos appeared silently behind her.

His hand came to rest gently on her shoulder.
