Chapter 176 - Chapter 176: The Mysterious Floating Island

Kronos and the others had originally planned to capture the Kingdom of Fagor by force.

But the unexpected scene before them left them stunned in place.

After all—who would have thought that the other side wouldn't resist at all?

They surrendered the moment Kronos arrived, even going so far as to give him a grand welcome!

The wrinkles on King Fagor's face were practically squeezed together as he forced a stiff smile.

In truth, he was extremely nervous.

Everything happening now was part of the only plan King Fagor could think of the moment he learned the Kamui Pirates were approaching his palace.

Just surrender.

There was no chance of winning against the Kamui Pirates.

So why not skip the part where they get beaten?

Give the enemy no excuse to attack.

Surrender immediately, offer total submission, and declare allegiance without conditions.

Of course, there was a bit of scheming on King Fagor's part.

He'd specifically chosen the word vassal.

There were many ways to join a larger power, but becoming a vassal state might let him retain most of his ruling authority.

If it worked, the Kingdom of Fagor would avoid destruction, and he could even keep his crown.

A win-win situation—at least in theory.

But King Fagor had no way of knowing if this plan would succeed.

So he stood there, sweating through his robes, forcing that smile, nervously waiting to see Kronos's response.

However, Kronos and his crew didn't react right away—not because they were planning something, but because they were genuinely confused.

They simply had no idea how to respond.

"Ahem… well… I accept,"

Kronos finally broke the awkward silence with a small cough.

The surrender had caught him off guard, but in truth, it wasn't a bad outcome.

If he could conquer a kingdom without fighting, that just saved time and energy.

King Fagor let out a long sigh of relief.

His hunched back straightened in an instant, and he turned around to shout orders to the nearest minister:

"Quick! Raise the Kamui Pirates' flag throughout the country! Prepare a grand banquet! Treat every member of the Kamui Pirates with the utmost respect—do not offend even one of them!"

The ministers scrambled to carry out the king's orders.

[Ding! Congratulations, Host, on successfully occupying the Kingdom of Fagor. Prestige +8000]

[Ding! Host now owns 5 territories. Bonus Prestige +25000]

As soon as Kronos agreed to the vassal offer, the voice of the system rang out in his mind.

He hadn't expected the extra 25,000 points.

It seemed to be a milestone reward—likely a bonus for acquiring five territories.

[Prestige: 82,300]

Seeing his updated stats, Kronos couldn't help but smile in satisfaction.

"Looks like the system isn't stingy after all."

The Fagor Kingdom moved swiftly.

In no time, the entire island was adorned with the Kamui Pirates' double-winged blindfolded skull flag.

A grand banquet was hosted in their honor.

Kronos and his crew were treated with the utmost hospitality.

Even the lower-ranked crew—Asaq, Populun, Vians, Kent, and Illya—were given royal treatment.

For two days, they lived like kings.

Everyone was pampered, entertained, and respected.

The five ship crew members were so indulged that when it came time to leave… they were genuinely reluctant to go.

When the Kamui Pirates finally departed from the Kingdom of Fagor, Kronos made sure they didn't leave empty-handed either.

This was, after all, the first kingdom that had surrendered so willingly and treated them so generously.

To show his appreciation, Kronos gifted King Fagor a chest of treasure worth 500 million Berries.

"After all," he thought,

"I have more money than I can spend."

King Fagor was stunned by the gift.

Once Kronos and the others had left, he ordered a sacred hall to be constructed solely to preserve the treasure.

Not because of its value—but because it came from Kronos.

Little did Kronos know that the treasure he casually left behind would one day be revered as a sacred artifact by the Fagor Kingdom!

Elsewhere…

High above the sea, somewhere in the New World…

A massive floating island loomed ominously as it drifted across the sky.

Below it, fishermen in small boats looked up in horror.

"What the hell?! Am I seeing things?!"

A bald fisherman shouted in disbelief.

The island passed directly overhead, casting an enormous shadow across the sea.

On another boat, a man with a goatee fell to his knees and muttered:

"No… it's real! That island—it's flying! A flying island!"

At the heart of the floating island, a towering man with a black crew cut stood in the center, grinning wickedly.

He held a newspaper in his hand, laughing with pure arrogance.

"Jiehahaha! Kronos? What a funny guy!"

His eyes glowed ominously as he read the news about Kronos's recent exploits.

"Jiehahaha! I'm really interested in this one... He should still be somewhere in the New World, right?"

He raised his head toward the distant sea, his black eyes flashing with excitement.

"The higher-ups don't seem to like him too much anyway..."

He cracked a wide grin, his teeth gleaming.

"Then I'll go meet him myself... Jiehahaha!"
