Sengoku continued what he had just said:
"So, if you encounter members of Kronos' crew, assess the situation and avoid direct confrontation if possible. Whitebeard's people will handle him. We don't need to overextend ourselves—our priority is to conserve strength."
In chaotic times like these, maintaining calm and clear judgment is more important than ever.
Whether facing pirates or fellow Marines, restraint was essential.
"I've said everything that needs to be said. I'll be counting on all of you for what comes next."
He glanced around at the officers in the room.
"Admirals, Vice Admiral Garp, and Staff Officer Tsuru—stay behind for a moment. I have some special deployments to discuss with you."
"We've already lost once... and this time, we cannot afford to lose again."
As Sengoku said this, the determination in his voice left no room for doubt: this was their only chance to redeem themselves.
With the main orders issued, the assembled Marine officers dispersed to begin their preparations.
For a battle of this scale, formations and strategies had to be finalized in advance. If they waited until the moment of engagement, it would be far too late.
At the port of Dressrosa, the Angel of Redemption had been fully loaded with supplies and equipment.
This journey could last indefinitely, and no one knew when they might return. Full preparations were essential—not only for the voyage but also to ensure that Dressrosa itself remained stable in their absence.
On the deck, Gojo Satoru and Jikuni Yuichi finished checking the last of the supplies. They called out toward the upper deck:
"Captain! Everything's ready. Should we set sail now? Wind and heading are good."
Unlike Kronos, who appeared carefree, Gojo was always more cautious, thoroughly checking every detail before departure.
But Kronos, in his usual casual manner, had simply said preparations were complete—meaning, for him, that everything would work out.
Kronos stepped up onto the connecting bridge and looked back at the Dressrosa royal family, led by King Riku.
These were the people he had rescued not long ago. From their expressions alone, Kronos could tell they were completely loyal to him now.
After years of suffering under Doflamingo's rule, Kronos had given their country a second chance.
"Captain Kronos, I heard the opponent this time is Whitebeard... please be careful."
"No matter what force comes to challenge you, I swear to uphold our agreement. Dressrosa will always be your territory."
King Riku spoke solemnly, his voice resolute.
"Then I'll leave this land in your hands, King Riku."
"The fight with Whitebeard won't take long. When I'm back, we'll share drinks again."
Kronos waved casually, then turned and walked onto the deck.
As Yuichi retracted the connecting bridge, the Angel of Redemption slowly departed from the port.
Half an hour later, fresh fruit and juice were brought to Kronos, who lounged casually on the deck.
Konan sat beside him, her expression calm.
"Captain, here's today's latest newspaper. Marine has mobilized. Do you want to take a look?"
She had already skimmed through it and felt Kronos should see it himself.
Kronos took the juice, then casually picked up the newspaper, skimming its contents without much interest.
As expected, the headlines were all about the looming war between Kronos and Whitebeard.
Marine Headquarters had issued righteous statements, claiming they would intervene to prevent the conflict.
Kronos sneered softly.
