Chapter 222 - 222 Doing It First

The events of the last battle at Marineford were still fresh in everyone's minds, yet now the Marines were making such a high-profile move to interfere again.

Kronos found this amusing. He understood exactly what Sengoku had in mind.

"Hahaha… looks like the old Marshal Sengoku is placing another bet. Daring to announce it to the whole world—that says it all."

"The Marines won't dare join the actual battle. They're just trying to stir the waters. They're waiting for me and Whitebeard to wear each other down so they can swoop in and reap the benefits."

Kronos' analysis was sharp. After all, if he were in Sengoku's position, he'd make the same move.

"On the surface, they represent justice. But in reality, they'll use any means necessary to eliminate those who won't obey."

"Heh… these Marines are no different from those hypocritical shinobi."

"Captain, why don't we take care of the Marines first, before dealing with Whitebeard?" Konan asked, her tone cold. She despised people who hid behind self-righteous ideals.

But Kronos waved her off.

"No need. They won't dare to interfere directly, and that's exactly what I want. Let them watch from the sidelines."

"They're just waiting to ambush us after our battle with Whitebeard, hoping to clean up the mess afterward."

"But it doesn't matter. Ignore them. Focus on Whitebeard."

When Whitebeard dared to invade Kronos' territory, it was a provocation—a direct challenge.

If Kronos didn't respond, it would be seen as weakness. And Kronos never showed weakness.

"As long as they're enemies, it's fine to kill them all. Weren't they our opponents last time?"

"I alone can handle those so-called 'justice' guys. I'll show them what real fear looks like."

Uchiha Madara stood up, his expression indifferent as he spoke.

During the battle at Marineford, Uchiha Madara had performed spectacularly alone, earning a bounty higher than many veteran pirates.

"You're itching for a fight that badly?" Kronos smirked, deliberately provoking him. "When the Whitebeard Pirates attack, how about you deal with their first division commander?"

"That guy's known as the 'Phoenix.' No matter how many times he's struck down, he regenerates. His ability is pretty troublesome."

Kronos said it casually, but everyone understood: letting Madara unleash his full power was what the crew wanted most.

"Phoenix, huh? No matter what kind of 'immortal' he claims to be… he'll die just like everyone else."

"The last time was just a mistake. I won't give anyone another chance."

Uchiha Madara's voice was cold as ice.

Last time, his opponent had been Akainu, and it was the first time in this world he'd encountered someone using Logia elementalization. Caught off guard, he had failed to land the killing blow.

Madara held himself to ruthless standards in battle, and not being able to eliminate Akainu had left him frustrated.

But during the fight against the Donquixote Family, he'd fought flawlessly, leaving no survivors.

"You don't need to be so tense," Kronos said with a grin. "This sea isn't just about fighting and killing. There are plenty of other things to enjoy."

"For example… sitting down, having a glass of juice, and enjoying the sea breeze."

He casually handed a fresh glass of juice to Uchiha Madara, as if to remind him to relax once in a while.
