Seeing that everyone had arrived, Kronos announced with a smile:
"Next, we're going through the waves at full speed! So, get yourselves ready—and don't fall off the ship."
The powerful fighters present were each masters in their own right, possessing incredible abilities.
A few huge waves? To them, that was nothing.
Compared to the enemies they had fought on battlefields before, this natural hazard seemed like child's play.
"Big waves? Hmph, I've never taken something like that seriously."
Uchiha Madara snorted coldly, showing no concern at all.
"I thought it was something serious, but it's just waves."
Bang (Master Bang or Silver Fang) casually picked his nose, clearly not worried.
Yoriichi Tsugikuni calmly reminded them: "There's something you might not know. This isn't just some ordinary natural hazard. What we're facing ahead is a superwave that only appears once every ten years."
Although everyone listened, they still remained relaxed. They didn't consider the incoming waves a threat.
Pain (Nagato) spoke calmly:
"With my ability, I can easily smooth out the waves."
"Want me to do it myself?"
He wasn't exaggerating. With his Rinnegan and mastery of ninjutsu, Pain could possibly calm the waves—or even summon a larger one just to prove a point.
Kronos, expecting this reaction, kept smiling.
"I know you're all very capable. That's why I'm raising the difficulty."
"When the huge wave hits, no matter who you are, you're not allowed to move."
"Stand your ground. No dodging. No defense. Do you have a problem with that?"
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone's eyes lit up. They immediately understood what Kronos was really doing.
A test.
He wasn't interested in seeing them overpower the waves. He wanted to see their composure—their discipline.
Uchiha Madara crossed his arms and laughed.
"Of course that won't be a problem! Don't worry! Something like waves…"
"…couldn't even harm a single strand of my hair!"
Gojo Satoru grinned too.
"Even if a volcano erupted in front of me, I wouldn't flinch. Waves? That's nothing."
Most of the core crew shared the same mindset. Their confidence in their own strength was absolute. The challenge posed no threat to them.
But not everyone felt so calm.
Some faces showed hesitation.
The trainee crew members.
"Ugh… is this really happening…?" one of them whispered nervously.
Several of the trainees were drenched in sweat, their faces pale.
Kronos noticed immediately.
"Hmm? What's wrong? Are you scared?" he asked casually.
The trainees were about to instinctively retreat, but then they looked into the captain's eyes—calm, unwavering, and firm.
Gritting their teeth, they forced themselves to stand tall.
One of the trainee crew members stepped forward, clenching his fists tightly.
"I-I'm fine! This is nothing!"
"I'm not afraid at all!"
He said it not just for the others to hear, but to convince himself—to silence his own fear.
Suddenly…
The wind howled.
And the roaring of the sea followed immediately after.
The wave was coming.
