The thing that made Katakuri the most speechless… was that Kronos had actually given him a boat.
Just look at that boat—
Tattered.
Shaky.
It looked like it might fall apart in the next second!
Katakuri was furious.
I might drown before I even reach Honeycomb Island!
He was a Devil Fruit user—if he really fell into the sea, that would be the end of him!
Kronos chuckled and said, "What's wrong? Scared?"
Katakuri silently accepted the pathetic little boat and wobbled his way toward Honeycomb Island.
Uchiha Madara furrowed his brows, unable to understand Kronos' approach. "May I ask… what's your real intention in sending him to Honeycomb Island?"
Kronos replied indifferently, "Honestly, even if I don't spell it out, you should already have a good idea of what I'm trying to do… right?"
Madara was silent for a moment, then said,
"If I'm not mistaken… you're planning to use him as cannon fodder to attract Whitebeard's attention."
Kronos nodded silently, but the corners of his mouth curled into a faint smirk. "Let's see what this guy Katakuri is really capable of. I hope he doesn't let me down."
On the other side, the Whitebeard Pirates were on high alert. They treated every approaching presence as a potential life-or-death threat. The trauma from the previous Summit War still haunted them and likely would for the rest of their lives.
That's why, at regular intervals, a pirate ship was always dispatched to scout and monitor the surrounding sea.
Even harmless merchant ships passing through the area would raise their suspicion.
There was no room for carelessness.
After all, the Kamui Pirates had grown so powerful that they were now putting more pressure on the Whitebeard Pirates than even the Marines.
In some ways, the Kamui Pirates had become an even greater threat.
Who dared to underestimate them?
Only those with a death wish.
At this moment, Whitebeard and Scuard were in charge of patrolling the surrounding waters.
Even though the likelihood of a surprise attack from the Kamui Pirates was low, as the saying goes—better safe than sorry.
No one could predict what Kronos might be planning.
Everything he did was unpredictable—completely beyond reason.
He could appear at any moment, from anywhere, and land a fatal blow without warning.
"Scuard," Whitebeard muttered, taking a deep breath, "I have a really bad feeling about this… I don't know if it's just my imagination."
Scuard laughed heartily, not taking it seriously at all. He patted his chest and said loudly, "Oyaji, don't keep looking so serious! It's not gonna be that bad!"
"Everything's gonna be fine!"
"Dad's the strongest man in the world!"
"If that bastard Kronos dares to show up with his crew, I guarantee—they're never making it back alive!"
But Whitebeard didn't take a single word Scuard said to heart.
Instead, he thought Scuard was just being foolish—completely lacking any sense of danger.
Disaster is clearly looming, and you're still being so carefree?
Whitebeard genuinely wondered if Scuard had weeds growing in his brain to be saying something so ridiculous.
At the same time, Whitebeard was silently cursing to Marco.
Why the hell did I have to be paired with Scuard for this patrol duty?!
