Chapter 255 - 255 Never underestimate Marko

Katakuri was well aware of his own strength.

No matter what, Marco was on the same level as him—both were right-hand men to Yonko.

The relationships between the Four Emperors were never particularly friendly.

There were always tensions.

And fights broke out from time to time.

By chance, Katakuri had once fought Marco.

During that battle, if Charlotte Linlin hadn't arrived in time, Katakuri might have died at Marco's hands!

Although they were both second-in-command to emperors, Marco had a slight edge in combat experience.

If it truly came down to a fight to the death, Katakuri knew that after hundreds of rounds, he might not be able to hold out—he would be defeated.

He still remembered that battle vividly. It was something he would probably never forget for the rest of his life.

So, when Kronos insisted he go to Hive Island and face off against those lunatics, Katakuri's first thought was that he was being sent to die.

Katakuri's facial muscles twitched. He said coldly,

"I didn't agree to go there alone. Are you trying to get me killed?"

Kronos narrowed his eyes and asked,

"Do you really think you have any other choice right now?"

Since persuasion didn't work, Kronos switched to threats.

"Don't forget—the lives of your family are still in my hands. With just a thought, I could have them all killed within three seconds.

"I've always been a man of my word. You should know that by now."

Katakuri was furious and couldn't help shouting:

"You can't go back on your word! Mother already made a deal with you! As long as she went after the Flying Six, you promised not to attack us!"

"So what is this now?"

"Are you going back on your word?"

Kronos shook his head and replied,

"Go back? Of course not. What I said was, she could trade hostages with me if she brought me enough bargaining chips.

"In other words, until I see the Flying Six, your people are still my spoils of war.

"I get to decide what happens to you next!"

Katakuri was livid.

What kind of twisted logic was that?

Was that even allowed?!

Still, the Charlotte family members, although filled with resentment, didn't dare say a word—because Albedo was watching them with murderous eyes.

That crazy woman looked like she'd slaughter anyone who dared to speak up!

"This woman is insane… completely deranged!"

That's what every Charlotte family member thought. They saw Albedo as a demon in human skin.

And honestly, they weren't wrong. In a way, Albedo and demons shared the same essence.

She was the kind of person who made others break out in cold sweat just from standing near her.

Katakuri glanced at his family members in the distance. His heart softened.

If it had only been him, he might've already rebelled against Kronos. There's no way he'd be doing what that bastard wanted.

But the thought that rejecting the plan might result in his brothers being killed…

In the end, Katakuri had no choice.

Even if he didn't want to agree, he had to.

"…Fine."

"I'll do it."

Katakuri forced himself to accept it—with courage and bitter resolve.
