Marco's eyes flickered slightly.
On the surface, the First Division Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates looked calm and composed.
But inside, he was anything but calm.
At any moment, Kronos could lead the Kamui Pirates into battle. The enemy fleet might already be on the way, and it wouldn't take long before they arrived.
If they ended up offending the Charlotte Family on top of that, then the Whitebeard Pirates would not only have to face the incredibly powerful Kamui Pirates, but also the Charlotte Family.
That would be nothing short of walking straight into death!
At this moment—
Three Whitebeard division captains, each commanding their own pirate ship, were sailing in to support Marco.
"Why are you here?" Marco asked in surprise.
One of the tall, powerfully built men lit a cigarette and said slowly,
"Dad figured you might not be able to handle this alone, so he sent us to back you up."
Another, a thin middle-aged man with a monkey-like build, added indifferently,
"Dad also said he hopes we can take down Katakuri as quickly as possible. Otherwise, if the Kamui Pirates arrive later, we won't have any strength left to deal with Katakuri!"
While Marco was slightly taken aback, Katakuri was clearly unsettled.
He could tell that all three of these captains were strong—strong enough to seriously threaten his life.
Marco alone was already more than enough trouble for him.
Now, with three more powerful fighters joining in, what was he supposed to do?
Katakuri wasn't wrong in his suspicions—Kronos had been watching his every move from the very beginning.
Every step Katakuri took, every word he spoke, Kronos knew instantly.
This was all thanks to Pain's special abilities.
Within the range of Pain's ninjutsu, nothing within several miles could escape his sight.
Even the extremely proud Uchiha Madara had to admit that this particular ninjutsu was truly formidable.
In this world, perhaps no one else could replicate what Pain was capable of.
No matter how powerful an individual was, in the face of Pain's unique ability, they would be forced into a disadvantage.
At first, no one really understood why Kronos had sent Katakuri to attack the Whitebeard Pirates.

"In other words, Katakuri is the bait you sent out, isn't he?" Uchiha Madara said slowly, crossing his arms.
Kronos smirked and replied,
"With Katakuri as bait, it's enough to make Whitebeard and his crew suspicious—enough for them to think that even Charlotte Linlin has chosen to become their enemy at a time like this."
"In other words, this is a divide-and-conquer strategy."
"With just one Katakuri, I can split three major forces apart."
If the Four Emperors ever learned of Kronos's plan, they would be furious—because Kronos was playing the Sea Emperors right in the palm of his hand.
The crew finally understood the brilliance of Kronos's scheme.
First, he created a rift between Charlotte Linlin and the Beasts Pirates, preventing the two forces from forming an alliance.
Then, he used Katakuri as a pawn to the fullest extent—giving the Whitebeard Pirates a dangerous illusion.
