If the Marines joined in, it might even draw in other pirate crews. Wouldn't that turn this into an all-out chaotic war between every major force?
In such a turbulent situation, who could possibly predict what would happen next?
Kronos seemed to sense what the trainee crew members were worrying about. He chuckled and said,
"You're worrying for nothing. Back during the Summit War, we were just a single force—yet we swept through both sides of that '920' conflict.
"I wasn't afraid back then… so what reason would we have to be afraid now?"
After hearing Kronos' words, the trainee crew members seemed to relax, as if they had just taken a calming medicine. They all felt that their captain was absolutely right.
Pain made a neck-slashing gesture and said coldly,
"Should we take them out before the Marines even notice us, give them a hard welcome?"
Xiao Yu, standing behind him, gave a slight nod, clearly ready to strike at any moment.
But Kronos shook his head, deciding that now wasn't the right time.
"If we move now, it'll only alert them.
"Let me put it this way—whether it's the Whitebeard Pirates or the incoming Marines, they're all our prey.
"If we attack the Marines too early, we'll just scare the prey away. What we need to do now… is wait for them to gather even more forces."
By the time Kronos finished speaking, everyone understood his intent. Obviously, his plan was to wait until the Marines had fully arrived—then wipe them all out in one move.
Since Kronos had already made up his mind, Pain didn't argue. He sighed, feeling it was a shame, and said,
"Alright, we'll do it your way."
Kronos patted him on the shoulder.
"Don't worry. There will be plenty of opportunities ahead. There's no need to rush, right?"
Meanwhile, out at sea…
Five Marine warships were moving at full speed toward Honeycomb Island.
The upcoming battle would shake the entire balance of the world, and every Marine on those ships was tense.
Even the man known across the world as the Marine Hero couldn't help feeling a hint of unease.
To say he wasn't nervous at all would be a lie.
Garp knew very well that the enemies they would face this time were far more dangerous than even Rocks or Roger had been.
Whitebeard. Kronos.
Neither of them was an opponent to take lightly.
"Garp, never thought I'd see the day when you'd be under pressure too," an old Marine Vice Admiral said with a teasing grin.
Garp gave his old comrade a long look before replying,
"And you're not nervous? I sure as hell am."
Then, his gaze turned toward the direction of Honeycomb Island. Almost as if speaking to himself, he muttered,
"Who's going to have the last laugh in this battle?
"This old man really can't tell."
At that same moment, while Marco and Katakuri were still locked in a fierce fight…
The atmosphere on Honeycomb Island had turned heavy and tense.
The Whitebeard Pirates stationed there were uneasy. They had already received word that Katakuri had inexplicably killed a large number of their comrades.
The entire crew was disturbed by the news—shocked, puzzled, and unable to make sense of it.
It was simply too strange.
