After Sarhena's dismissal from the palace, it didn't take long for Vella's days to become more interesting. She finally gets to watch and record activity that seems suspicious. Listen to conversations with the help of her magic and overhear plans made with servants that one of the noble ladies has bribed into helping her, or with another crown princess candidate who's decided that forming a temporary alliance is the best move for now.
While Sarhena's removal was more of a way to try forcing the other women to either start contacting their support beyond the palace walls to adjust plans, which would make it easier to find out who among them was scheming, it wasn't the standard. Unlike Sarhena, none of the other women are being removed when Vella or palace employees notice evidence of their misdeeds regarding their competition. It's a strategy those involved decided on in order to keep the competition from appearing too much like the trap it's always been.
