Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Everything Taken Away

Summer Sutton cautiously observed his reaction.

Adrian Walyon was silent for a while. His hand finally withdrew, "You're right, we are getting married!"

Summer Sutton breathed a small sigh of relief, her gaze drifting to his body still pressing against hers, reminding him, "Shouldn't you get off first?"

Pressing down like this, the position was too risky, making her nervous.

Adrian Walyon narrowed his eyes slightly at her words, "Did Miss Sutton forget what you just said so quickly?"

"..." Summer Sutton was confused.

"For someone who is about to get married, you'd better get used to all kinds of intimacy!" Adrian Walyon moved off her, tugging the sheet as he lay down beside her.

He hadn't made things difficult for her, but for Summer Sutton, him lying there was no different from when he was pressing on her.

"Are you sleeping here tonight?" Summer Sutton asked knowingly.

"Do you have a problem with that?" Adrian Walyon countered.

This was his room, and she was about to be his. Wasn't it his right to sleep with her?

Summer Sutton continued to find excuses, "I'm not used to sleeping with someone else!"

"Then start getting used to it from today!" Adrian Walyon tossed her a sentence and closed his eyes indifferently.

After that, he didn't say another word.

He just fell asleep like that?

"Hey! Aren't there many rooms in the house?" Summer Sutton gave him a little shove.

Her hand just reached out, and, as if realizing something, she hastily pulled it back.

Actually, him just sleeping like that was quite alright.

It was already good that he didn't do what he had mentioned before in the dining room.

Summer Sutton didn't want to provoke him, so she obediently lay down as well.

To avoid accidentally offending him again, she kept a distance from him.

On a two-meter-wide bed, they were at least one and a half meters apart.

Summer Sutton practically pressed herself against the wall.

In the latter half of the night, all was peaceful and stable.

Although she was really not used to sleeping on the same bed with an unfamiliar man, the fact that Adrian Walyon hadn't done anything to her was already a relief.

The next morning, when she got up, Adrian Walyon was no longer in the room.

"The young master is having breakfast downstairs. Miss Sutton, you can go downstairs after you freshen up," the maid said.

"Got it. You don't need to worry about me, just go about your own business." Summer Sutton pushed past a few people and turned her head into the bathroom.

After a quick wash in the bathroom, her long hair casually tidied, she went downstairs.

When she arrived in the living room, the TV was on, playing the morning news, but Adrian Walyon wasn't there.

Summer Sutton glanced casually at the TV, and her gaze stopped as it drifted past.

The news was reporting about the Sutton Clan Group.

On the screen, a middle-aged man and a young girl were being interviewed.

"The Sutton Clan is doing better and better now, Mr. Sutton is truly exceptional. And having such a smart and capable daughter, he can be considered a winner in life!"

"Not at all! Not at all! My daughter's success is mostly due to her own efforts."

"It's heard that the Sutton Family and Walyon Family have been close recently. The Walyon Family is one of the top families in Northtown, a prestigious family that many young girls in Northtown dream to marry into. The young master of the Walyon Family is a rare talent among young people. Some media had previously reported that the Walyon Family plans to form a marital alliance with the Sutton Family. Mr. Sutton, is this true?"

"Sorry, it is inconvenient to answer this question for now."

"What does it mean inconvenient to answer? Is it not the right time to announce it to the public yet?"

"Apologies, apologies, today we are only discussing matters related to the good company."

"Then Mr. Sutton, let's talk about the recent plans of the Sutton Clan Group, does Mr. Sutton have any plans?"
