Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 Absolutely Correct

In the two days that Ji Rui was absent, during the day, Le Tong continued to work hard as usual. But at night, she began browsing various job market websites and saved several relatively satisfactory and suitable job listings.

Although, whether it was the previous matter or the latter, Le Tong did not feel that Ji Rui had lost anything.

She wasn't a fool. If she had overpowered him, he, a grown man, if unwilling, could a weak woman actually force him? Moreover, Le Tong had seriously inspected her own body afterward—the marks left on her body should definitely not have been left by a man being overpowered.

As for the matter of getting burned, she was the one who was seen all bare, she was the one whose back was red and painful from the burn. What did he lose?

But in this world, "truth" is often held by the rich. Ji Rui is the boss. If he says that the time after drinking was her overpowering him, then it must have been her overpowering him. If he says that she was willing to burn herself to seduce him, then she surely had malicious intent trying to entice him.

Therefore, dismissing her from these two forced accusations upon her is an easy task.

So, these past two days, Le Tong has been living with the anxiety of being dismissed at any moment.

On Friday, Le Tong returned to the Ji Family as usual.

Since Ji Rui wasn't there, she went back to the office according to regular working hours. Just as she sat down, the phone rang.

"Hello, Ji Family!" Le Tong picked up the receiver and spoke into the phone with her work voice.

"Where's the coffee?!" Ji Rui's low voice came through, startling Le Tong.

"President, you're back?! Please wait, I'll brew it right away!"

Fifteen minutes later, Le Tong handed the steaming hot coffee to Ji Rui.

"President, your coffee." Le Tong cautiously observed Ji Rui's face, uncertain if he was going to ask her to pack up and leave at once.

Ji Rui kept his usual stern face, not looking at her, as he picked up the coffee with one hand and pushed a thick stack of documents toward Le Tong with the other.

"These documents, translate and print them out, then send them to the planning department."

Le Tong looked at the stack of documents, feeling both happy and worried.

Happy because it seemed Ji Rui temporarily had no intention of dismissing her, worried because she was supposed to have dinner with Luo Yuanyuan tonight—it seemed she'd have to cancel that plan. To translate and print these documents wouldn't be finished until after ten tonight.

But as long as it wasn't dismissal, small matters like overtime she could endure.

"Alright. I'll complete it as soon as possible." Without another word, Le Tong gathered the documents in her arms and turned to leave.

"Le Tong." Ji Rui suddenly called out to her from behind.

Le Tong's heart tightened, thinking he was finally ready to raise the axe against her, she took a deep breath before turning back.

"President, is there anything else?"

Ji Rui raised his eyes to stare at her for quite a while before saying, "Take the return ticket to the finance department for reimbursement."

Le Tong was stunned for a moment, he called her back just for this small matter?

Of course, what's termed 'small matter' refers to the extremely busy President Ji.

"What, you don't need it?" Ji Rui seemed displeased with her silence, raising an eyebrow, a hint of amusement in his eyes.

"No! Definitely not! Thank you, President, I'll take it to the finance department for reimbursement at noon." Le Tong flashed a sweet smile at Ji Rui.

A thousand-plus yuan, to others may not be a huge amount, but it was her entire month's living expenses. Ji Rui's attitude that day was truly poor, so Le Tong was prepared for that thousand-plus yuan to go up in smoke. Now hearing this news, her mood was as if struck by a thousand-plus yuan falling from the sky.

Ji Rui was distracted by her smile, narrowing his eyes slightly, staring at her face smiling like a blossoming mountain flower, and couldn't help but recall what Zhuo Jiarui had said in the bar that day, "Good face, fair skin, tall body with curves..."

If Ji Rui had heard Zhuo Jiarui's words a month ago, he probably would have immediately refuted, saying his secretary was nothing more than the most ordinary young woman.

But having witnessed her alluring demeanor drunk and saw her graceful figure in the hotel bathroom, he had to admit, Zhuo Jiarui's words were entirely accurate!
