After sending Xu Yachong off, Jiang Jingheng walked in and saw Mu Yan asleep on the sofa.
He walked over and was about to pick her up when she slowly awoke.
"Hmm, has Brother Xu left?" she asked, looking at him with sleepy eyes.
"Yes, let's go to bed," Jiang Jingheng said in a gentle voice, and he tried to pick her up again but she avoided him.
She stood up, yawned, and headed towards the stairs.
Jiang Jingheng watched her back but did not follow. His light brown eyes were shadowed.
At the corner of the stairs, Mu Yan suddenly turned back and saw Jiang Jingheng still standing in the living room. She asked, "Aren't you going to sleep?"
"I am." Jiang Jingheng lifted his foot and walked towards her.
The two returned to the bedroom and lay on the bed.
Mu Yan turned over, her back facing him, and fell into a deep sleep.
Jiang Jingheng wanted to hold her but was afraid of waking her.
He lay flat, staring at the ceiling, vaguely feeling as if a wall had grown between them.
