Chapter 14 - 014. Is he reluctant to part with it?

That little brat just kneeled for a few hours, not even close to the day and night Huai Yu endured, why didn't he show some heartache back then?

Nan Chengzhi ignored her unreasonable trouble, walked around to the other side of the bed, lifted the quilt, and said blandly, "Turn off the lights, sleep."

Is he reluctant now?

President Zheng had already clearly stated his position yesterday, and hadn't they already agreed on this?

If Nan Wan marries over, that five million is theirs. Huai Yu just took over as president, and the need for money is increasing. Even if the Nan Family isn't lacking now, what about later?

Jiang Xiaoman couldn't bear her husband's attitude, but she was smart and knew she couldn't confront the man head-on, the softer she was, the more effective it would be.

Sliding her body down into the covers, bringing her lips to his neck, she flicked her tongue gently, whispering, "Honey, have you thought about President Zheng's matter yet?"

Letting trouble linger, who knows what chaos might erupt, the sooner it's resolved, the sooner peace comes.

Nan Chengzhi remained unmoved by her teasing, gently pushed the woman clinging to his back away, closed his eyes, his tone icy, "Zheng Hua is so perverted he doesn't even spare children, and you ask me to push my own daughter into the fire pit?"

Jiang Xiaoman was startled, how did he know?

After a few seconds, she snuggled back up, her voice becoming increasingly soft and alluring, "Honey, those are just rumors, I've met this President Zheng, he's cultured and refined, not like the rumors say."

"Even as spineless as I am, I won't sell my daughter. I have my own plans for Nan Wan, don't think I don't know what you've been up to, behave yourself!"

Hearing this, Jiang Xiaoman's expression stiffened, becoming extraordinarily twisted.

The man's words struck Jiang Xiaoman like a bolt of lightning, splitting her whole being open.

What did he mean by that?

He clearly knows about the deals between herself and Zheng Hua, yet pretends not to, watching her act like a clown, it's terrifying.

Barton was probably thirsty, nudged its furry body, glanced at Nan Wan, then went to find some water to drink.

As the footsteps faded, Nan Wan blinked and calmly stood up from the ground.

Maintaining one posture for too long, her whole body was stiff, every step was difficult.

Leaning half her body against the handrail for support, the scraped spot on her knee ached lightly from the constant movement, and it took her a full two minutes to descend the stairs.

The corridor lights were off, shrouded in darkness.

She pushed open the door, and before she could step in, she felt a tickling sensation on her calf.

Barton held the suit that had fallen to the floor in its mouth, circling around Nan Wan's feet, its brown fur occasionally brushing against her skin, inexplicably lightening her gloomy mood from the whole night.

"I still have to return this to Uncle," Nan Wan took the suit, draped it over her arm, smiled warmly at Barton, and threatened softly, "If you chew it up, I'll sell you to pay back the debt."

The golden retriever felt wronged, all it did was deliver the owner's forgotten item.
