Chapter 15 - 015. The end of the world did not come; we still have to live.

I don't know whether it was because of the alcohol or the sheer exhaustion from acting all day, but Nan Wan fell asleep as soon as she hit the bed.

Of course, just like countless nights before, as long as she closed her eyes, the nightmares she had experienced would replay scene by scene.

It wasn't until the moment the alarm rang that she could wake up from the hell.

When she opened her eyes, Nan Wan stared blankly at the light spilling into the room through the window. Her arm reached out from the covers, slowly extending to touch the seemingly warm sunlight.

Her skin, under the illumination of the morning sun, was a nearly transparent white.

The apocalypse hasn't come, life must go on.

She tossed aside the quilt, walked barefoot into the bathroom, and showed a large smile to the mirror, "Good morning, Nan Wan."

She didn't jump out of the window, didn't cut her wrists with a blade, nor did she swallow sleeping pills.

Every organ was intact, and there were no red marks from whipping on her body. Except for a slight headache, everything was fine.

[Nan Wan, you're still alive.]

She turned on the shower, and warm water fell on her skin. In no time, misty steam filled the entire bathroom.

When she went downstairs, everyone in the Nan Family was in the dining room having breakfast.

If any outsider could see the amount of food piled high on the table, they would understand that the nouveau riche are constantly afraid that their money will suddenly disappear, just as suddenly as they acquired it.

Jiang Xiaoman probably wished to have the entire world piled in front of her.

"Aunt, come for breakfast."

Jiashu was the first to see Nan Wan, waving his chubby little hand and pointing to an empty chair nearby.

Shen Zhimei pulled out a tissue, wiped the drool from her son's mouth, and whispered, "Jiashu, be good. Auntie isn't eating; saving patients is more important, right?."

Jiashu nodded, blinking his big round eyes, his voice soft and sweet, "Goodbye, Auntie."

Nan Wan: "..."

Shen Zhimei, thank you!

Why not eat? Why refuse?

Even if she doesn't say a word, just sitting there quietly can disgust a bunch of people, and she hasn't eaten at the same table for a long time, so the effect would surely double.

Alright then, fine, nothing to do with her anymore.

Nan Wan subtly retracted the leg she had already stepped toward the dining room, squeezed a smile at the little boy, "Goodbye, Jiashu."

Those people aren't in her line of sight, just treat them as air.

Since she drank yesterday, she left the car outside the bar, so today she could only take a taxi to the hospital.

It took about ten minutes to walk out of the community. Just then, a taxi happened to be available, but before Nan Wan could wave it down, a black sports car pulled up in front of her.

The car window rolled down, and Nan Huaiyu held the steering wheel with one hand, the other resting on the car door, a roguish smile playing at his lips, his eyes nonchalantly glancing at her, "Get in."

Nan Wan didn't even look at him, she spoke lightly, "Take your mom."

She walked around the car towards the taxi.

Heaven and earth's witness, she wasn't really cursing him.
