Chapter 34 - Chapter 33 - Revenge

When I asked the question, Luke opened his eyes suddenly and looked at me. Seeing me ask this question, he got confused.

The man was looking at me behind the mask. He neither answered nor reacted.

"Did you kill my father?" I asked again, raising my voice.

"I did what I was supposed to," he said without hesitation.

My eyes widened, and anger started to surge inside of me.

The hate I felt that moment could not be explained. I have never wanted to murder a person, not even once. But now, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I moved my hand and pointed the gun at the man. I started to take deep breaths, but now, not just with my nose but also with my mouth.

My breathing became louder to the level that I was sure everyone in the room could hear it easily.

I pointed it at his right eye, but at that moment Luke stood up.

"Daniel, what are you doing?" he asked.

I didn't answer. I was focused on the person in front of me.

"Daniel, he might kill you."

"Please, calm down. Revenge won't do anything, and it might create even more problems," he added.

"I don't care."

"But I do! We have a chance at surviving this game, and you might ruin it."

"Survive? You think we can survive this shit? There is nothing we can do here. They are playing with us for their own pleasure."

"But-"

"But what, Luke? But what?" I interrupted him without moving my eyes or the gun.

"We are trapped here to play games until I find whoever this person is? You think I can find? It is some psycho billionaire who drugged me and made me go through everything."

"There is no other explanation."

"Even if I find who this person is, do you think he will release us? No!"

"Look, I understand you-"

"You understand what Luke? You don't understand shit. You were about to shit yourself when you read the rules and learned that you might die."

"I have already died! I died more than once. More than I can remember. The only thing I remember is having to go through all, just to come here and suffer more?"

"And this? This piece of shit? He killed my father. He killed him while I was hugging him. I don't even know what happened to my mother. You expect me to continue?"

"What if it's empty, then huh? You shoot, and there are no bullets. What are you going to do?" Luke asked.

"I will shoot again."

"And if it is empty too?"

"Again"

"It won't work," Luke said, "You are ruining our chance of survival because of revenge. He might kill you." he started to raise his voice.

"There are 6 empty slots and 2 bullets. Bullets are on opposite sides. So, out of 3 shots, one of them will hit. And don't worry, I can pull the trigger faster than he can pull his gun out."

"You are-" Luke started to mutter while covering his face with his hands.

At that moment, I saw the man in front of me move his hand slightly.

I reacted fast and without changing direction, pulled the trigger.

Click!

As a click was heard, Luke took a deep breath because of fear.

I saw the man reaching for his back, probably for a gun. I didn't stop and pulled the trigger twice.

Click!

Bang!

The gun fired, and the bullet went through his eye socket, destroying his brain and painting the wall behind him with his blood. His body fell on the ground, and continued to dye the floor red.

The recoil of the revolver was too much; it made my arm bend, and I hurt my wrist while trying to hold it.

"What did you-" Luke said in shock, looking between his fingers, still covering his face.

He was still shaking and afraid.

When I looked at his dead body, I didn't feel a thing. Not sadness, not happiness, not fear, not a relief after the revenge. Nothing.

"What are we gonna do now?" Luke asked in panic.

"We run," I said while looking at the door.

"We escape this hellhole right now."
