Chapter 125 - Chapter 124 - What Another Wife Thinks

A sweet giggle left Celine's lips as she said, "And we are happy to have you, Miyanna."

And that was an undeniable truth to Celine, one she knew Blanc shared.

While her own relationship with Blanc was great since the beginning, it was obvious to her that since Miyanna joined them, their relationship had also been elevated.

It's fascinating for one to see how love can take shape, and how, in the correct circumstances, it not only takes shape but also gets upgraded to a plane higher than before.

So high in fact, that, when looking back, it feels as if the relationship Blanc and Celine had before was incomplete, wearing missing pieces.

And one of those missing pieces was, of course, Miyanna.

"Miyanna, tell me," Celine began while looking at the twins.

"What?" Miyanna asked, taken by surprise.

"How many wives do you think Blanc will come to have? Only us?" Celine asked.

A frown appeared on Miyanna's face as if someone cursed her mother, "Why would he want more? Are we not enough?"

Celine giggled, hearing her, as if she expected that answer, "There is a Noble Blood, a strong one in the east, that has over twenty wives and forty or so concubines. While I know Blanc would rather jump off a cliff than have that many headaches, he also said in the past that I, alone, am enough, yet here we are."

"What are you trying to say?" Miyanna asked, "That was as much your doing as it was mine."

"Many things, actually," Celine replied, ignoring Miyanna's last remark, "But for now, only one thing. Let's say that another woman appears and that another would wish to join us, will you be able to accept her?"

"Depends on the person, I guess," Miyanna replied after thinking for a moment, "I mean, if I would hate that woman's guts, I don't think I could ever accept her."

"Oh? How about that, Allegra, the spirit bear Metamorph?" Celine asked.

"I've seen her look at Blanc way too much, I wanted to pull her eyes out," Miyanna replied confidently.

"Even if I wanted to, I fear I couldn't," Celine giggled, "She was strong."

"That doesn't mean I will allow it," Miyanna said.

"Blanc would not marry someone we do not approve of, so you can rest easily," Celine said, patting Miyanna's back.

"I know, but why ask such a thing?" Miyanna wondered, "Would you be fine if there were more of us?"

"Depends," Celine thought for a bit before replying, "But in essence, yes. If all of Blanc's family truly got captured, and, Vita forbid, murdered, then I think even my father would suggest that Blanc keep marrying more women. After all, that is the duty of a Noble Blood."

"And you would do it because…what? Because we are Noble Bloods?" Miyanna asked, dumbfounded.

"Yes, Miyanna. I've been taught that my whole life, after all. But in another way, as long as it works, for Blanc, and for us, I do not see why not," Celine replied.

"Explain," Miyanna requested.

"Our lives, as Noble Bloods, are not so simple as hoping that we, alone, will be able to live happily ever after with the man we love, then die," Celine began, "Things can change. Sacrifices must be made. And if the only thing we have to sacrifice is another spot in a larger bed, then I do not see why not, as long as we approve of it."

"But-" Miyanna wanted to speak, but Celine continued.

"Miyanna, dear sister, I love Blanc with all my soul, and I know you do too. But at the same time, we are women, and you, just as I will in a few months, will become a mother," she said, "And when you do, you and I both will plan, and devise, not only for us and Blanc, but for our kids as well. And if we can offer to ourselves, to our kids, to our family, power by allowing Blanc to, let's say, marry a princess of whatever kingdom, making him heir to a throne, would you not do it?"

"I haven't thought that far," Miyanna replied honestly, "But I don't think it's fair if you put it like that."

"That may be true," Celine realized out loud, "All I'm saying is that if I see value in a woman who is clearly interested in him, I might consider it. Not only for Blanc but for ourselves and our future as well."

"I will keep that in mind," Miyanna muttered, looking at the ground.

I hope Miyanna truly understands my point.

The moment we got married, and I took the name of Noble Blood Denegis, I swore that this brain of mine would not be used for Blood Maroux any longer.

But for Blood Denegis, for Blanc, for us, and for our kids.

I convinced Blanc before so that he could see what I saw in Miyanna.

I could do it again if need be for another.

And if I can do it to Blanc, I can surely do it to Miyanna.

I love them both dearly.

But just as I love them, I love the baby growing inside me just as much.

I am a sister and a wife.

But I must start thinking that soon, I am to be a mother as well.

That does not mean I will forget my duty as the former two, just an addition to the list.

Forgive me, Blanc, if I put you in a situation you do not wish for.

I would give my life for you if need be, but until then, I will act in your stead as your eyes and ears. And when you are not sure what you see or hear, I will be the one telling you what to see and hear.

I love you, but this wife of yours can be selfish sometimes.

"I apologize if this topic made you uncomfortable," Celine said, returning to the conversation.

"Oh, no, no," Miyanna shook her head as a grin appeared on her face, "Now that you said it like that, is worth keeping in mind. However, I am now quite angry. And I am just waiting for this husband of ours to get back and calm my anger, one way or another."

"On that, dear sister, we can both agree," Celine giggled.
