Chapter 25 - Shira's Seven Heavens Breathing Method

Kaiji considered his options for advanced Taijutsu.

He knew that only Konoha possessed a few advanced styles, such as the Hyuga's Gentle Fist, the Uchiha's Taijutsu Style, and various other Clan's Taijutsu Styles.

Tsunade also possessed a unique and powerful Taijutsu Style.

Kirigakure might have clan-based Taijutsu Styles as well.

Aside from these, the only other prominent Taijutsu Style he remembered from the anime was Strong Fist, specifically the Eight Inner Gates of Might Dai.

That technique was arguably the strongest Taijutsu Style in the entire anime.

'But even if I were a Konoha Shinobi,' Kaiji thought, 'Might Dai wouldn't teach me Eight Inner Gates.'

In the current timeline, only he and his son, Might Guy, knew about this technique.

'Well, even if others knew about this technique,' he mused, 'how many would be willing to train hard consistently enough to learn it anyway?'

The Eight Inner Gates, or Hachimon Tonko, is a technique that activates eight specific points along the body's chakra pathway system.

These points normally limit the flow of chakra.

The brain places restraints on the body to prevent oneself from inflicting mortal damage upon themselves from overexertion during intense physical activity.

The First Gate, the Gate of Opening, removes the brain's restraints on the muscles.

This allows the user to access 100% of their physical strength instead of the normal 20%.

Activating it allows a flood of chakra to enhance physical abilities significantly.

However, this comes at the cost of tremendous strain and damage to the body.

Although the First Gate, the Gate of Opening, didn't put as much strain on the body as the higher gates, the strain and damage increased exponentially as the user opened more Gates.

This technique pushed the user's physical body to its absolute limits and even beyond. Thus, its price was also incredibly high.

However, this strain on the body could be reduced if the user possessed extreme physical conditioning, mental fortitude, and willpower.

To truly learn the Eight Inner Gates, one needed to include four specific things in their training regimen.

First was intense training. Second was mastering the flawless execution of basic Taijutsu forms, as the Gates amplified existing physical techniques.

Third was developing incredible speed and power, with a relentless focus on explosive movements and powerful strikes.

Fourth, and finally, the user must possess ironclad determination and willpower.

These elements were crucial because the technique not only granted strength but also gave access to more and more of the user's body's potential and Chakra.

It was not something just anyone could learn or replicate without this specific and brutal regimen.

Though the Sharingan could copy the movements involved in opening the Gates, if that person didn't have good enough physical conditioning, the Gates would essentially be a one-time suicidal technique.

'Even if I could learn only the first gate,' Kaiji thought, 'it would provide me a great boost in my overall strength.'

Even learning to open just the First Gate was incredibly beneficial for Kaiji, as it would increase his strength and speed by 5 times.

After all, the Gate of Opening allowed the user to utilize 100% of their physical strength instead of their normal 20%.

Kaiji knew the general locations of the points to open the Gates, but he didn't want to risk injuring himself.

After all, the Eight Inner Gates technique could be very dangerous.

Kaiji sighed. "Looks like focus on Taijutsu needs a pause for some time," he said.

He wished he knew how to activate these Gates.

He believed his current physical strength might be enough to open the first two Gates, he supposed, but he lacked the knowledge of activation.

Kaiji then started thinking about an alternative for the Eight Inner Gates. He really didn't want to neglect Taijutsu training entirely.

While he was contemplating potential alternatives, a thought suddenly struck him.

He slapped his face lightly. "Shira's 'Seven Heavens Breathing Method'!" he exclaimed softly.

Kaiji couldn't believe he had forgotten such a technique. This technique was directly a version of the Eight Inner Gates.

Not to mention, the Seven Heavens Breathing Method was created by a shinobi of Sunagakure named Shira, though in the current timeline, Shira was not yet born.

However, his technique was very useful. It also allowed the user to utilize strength far beyond their normal physical limits, just like the Eight Inner Gates.

The only difference was in the method used to achieve this. The Seven Heavens Breathing Method achieved this through hyper-oxygenation and controlled energy release through breathing and chakra.

Though this also put strain on the body, unless their physical conditioning was great.

Unlike the Eight Inner Gates, Kaiji could try to learn and re-create this technique with less worry, as it was less fatal than the Eight Gates.

While he was thinking about this, another thought came to his mind.

He considered how this technique required the practice of deep breathing.

Then there was meditation as well, which also significantly helped a ninja, as Kazeo Sensei had explained.

He began to think that this shinobi world felt a little bit like those cultivation stories he knew.

Moreover, Chakra came from Hagoromo Otsutsuki. If one were to eliminate the Otsutsuki's involvement in this world, what would be left?

Then this world had Natural energy, which resulted in Sage Mode. And advanced Taijutsu was tied to things like training, meditation and breathing techniques.

Even learning to absorb Natural Energy for Sage Mode required a calm mind, and a calm mind came from meditation.

Perhaps, without the Otsutsuki's influence, this world might indeed have developed into something resembling those Chinese novels and cultivation concepts.

Kaiji chuckled softly at his own thoughts, a quiet chuckle escaping his lips.

Then, with some renewed interest, he said, "Seven Heavens Breathing Method, huh!"
