Ryker and I reached the training ground. Everybody was already there, we were a bit late.
We joined the group after some warm-up, and we started practicing.
Ryker was ready to fight. I knew he was strong, so I wanted to fight with him.
We started fighting. His attacks were fast. It was so fast you wouldn't see it coming. He has no unguarded place.
I was able to hold his attacks. We were equal in speed. His attacks can't hit me, nor can I. It lasted for quite a long time until we both stopped. We were tired.
It ended in a tie. I wouldn't lie, he was a hard opponent to beat.
Others were still learning the basics, it's fundamental, while we are trying to advance our skills.
I wanted to try harder. I always got this feeling, even if I was good, I wanted to excel in everything.
Time passes, our training continues. Due to the tough training, everybody has improved.
Ryker and I had been trying to obtain more information, but couldn't. Our free time has become more restricted now.
Tamphasana will challenge me to a duel from time to time. I beat her every time.
My skill has been approved now, too. But my magic has not awakened yet. I read the book my father gave me every night.
My parents will send me letters from time to time.
It was just the same day. Ryker and I were practising swordsmanship. We both were trying to surpass each other. We have gotten close. We will spend our free time together.
We have just finished our practice when a sudden announcement of someone's arrival was made. It was the saintess.
She said she was just checking on our progress. Her face was not clearly shown. She dressed in white.
Then she looked at me and said, " Why doesn't she have any magic on her?"
Which surprised me? She could tell by looking.
"It's strange, I have never seen anyone like her," she continued.
She then took a glance at Ryker. She looked completely pleased and said, " He has higher potential."
She asked the General, " Have their magic training started?"
Which obviously he answered no. She urged him to start it quickly.
Then she came to me and said, " How come someone like you got chosen as a hero? You are completely useless if you can't use magic."
The general looks at me with a terrified look. I know that look. He's scared I'll hit the saintess.
Before this, I beat some people to a pulp for saying bad things about me. But if I hit her, it will cause a problem. So no thanks. I barely managed a neutral face.
She doesn't look happy with me. According to my info, she is not good and is involved with the king.
She walked to her previous place and announced, " Not just training in a few days, you will be going to fight demons. But before that, you all will be visiting an academy to learn more about the demon lord."
She continued, " It is an academy that has been collecting information about the demon lord for a long time, even the royal palace doesn't have it. You all will be visiting tomorrow, everyone should be present."
She left after that. Her way of speaking is calm and gentle.
It was already nighttime, time flies quickly. I was standing near the balcony. The moon was full. It looks beautiful.
As usual, Tamphasana was practicing. I decided to join her today.
I came down to the ground and called her. She looked over me.
I said, " Mind if I join?"
"No," she said.
" Would you spar with me?" I asked.
She agreed, and the battle began. In the quiet night, the clashing of the sword fills the air.
After some time, she fell on the ground. She got up. She had a disappointed face.
" I can never beat you, huh?" she said.
I said, " But you are already so good."
" I must work harder." She responded.
I said, " Why do you always wanna spar with me?"
" I wanna surpass you. I was never beaten since childhood, but after seeing you and Ryker, I feel weak," she said.
" You think too much, come let's get inside, it's getting col,d and don't overthink it's bad for your health," I said.
She smiled and followed me. We have gotten close over the past few days. Our constant sparring brings us closer. I wonder if she knew about his father's plan.
" My father never praised me, even though I'm greater than my brothers. He only cared about himself. I wanted to prove myself, so I decided to join in defeating the demon lord." She opened up to me.
No wonder she trained so hard.
" You don't need to prove yourself to tell others you are better. If they can't appreciate us, we don't need to prove to them." I said.
She said, " I guess our way of thinking is different."
" But I totally got the feeling of proving to parents. I guess it's the same for every child." I said.
She laughed and we both left for our room.
It was early in the morning. We started with our usual exercise.
Today we won't practice cause we are leaving for an academy. We were called by the king.
He then gave us a letter. He asked us to pass it to the headmaster, it will help us more. He claimed.
He continued, " The headmaster will provide you with all the necessary information."
We got dressed, ate our lunch, and settled in the carriage for departure.
We were on the way to the academy. I didn't take a good look at the capital when I came here. But I could see its beauty today.
Maipakpi said who sat next to me, " I'm so tired. When are all these things gonna end? I missed 5Star."
