Chapter 15 - Strange

We all reach the academy. It was the most prestigious academy in the capital. It was lively there.

When we exited the carriage, a servant greeted us and led us to the headmaster's office.

This place was huge, and it looked luxurious. Soon enough, we reached the headmaster's room.

Tamphasana handed the letter to the headmaster, given by her father. The headmaster looked old, he had a glass.

He opened the letter and read it. His eyes turn to us with a mysterious aura.

He called one of his servants and said something to him. Then he said to us, " Feel free to use our library, it contains all the information you need. Nobody will be there right now as it is exclusive to certain people."

He continued, " He'll guide you there," pointing at the servant.

The servant bowed to us and started walking towards the door.

He said, " Please follow me."

He guided us to a large room filled with books.

He said, " You will find all the books you need here. And if you want to sightsee the place, please feel free to do so." And he left.

Everyone started doing what they desired. Some people decided to rest, some were chatting.

Everyone seems so carefree except Tamphasana. She was picking out books to read.

My friends find a spot to sit and talk. I excuse myself to research.

The room was huge. I found a quiet spot where nobody had gone. It was peaceful there.

I start looking at the books. Ryker came from behind.

He said, " What are you looking at? Find something interesting."

" Not yet," I answered.

We both start looking at the books, trying to find valuable information. Nothing was interesting. This was all about their glory.

The story looks so perfect, like a carefully crafted story. There was no flaw in it. It was the only good thing about them, nothing more.

I didn't find anything special. Then Ryker came up to me and said, " Look here in this book, some information about the legendary is mentioned."

I started reading the book.

It states that after the world was fully made, some fragments were left behind. An evil force tried to destroy it.

Then the god created warriors out of the fragments. The evil force couldn't be killed whatever they do. Then they decided to forge themself into a sword, it was the legendary sword.

It was successful, and only one warrior was left to yield the sword. But it couldn't kill the evil force completely. Before it could die, the evil force left some of its fragments on the world.

As the warrior couldn't kill it off completely, he sealed the evil force in the sword, and he himself became a part of it.

The fragments left by the evil force started spreading more and more and evolved into demon. The god created human to fight them off.

It became a chance for the evil force. Its fragment would choose its suitable master and possess the person. The person will become the demon lord.

Each time the demon lord would be kill the evil force power will leave the person and start searching for a new master.

The evil could only be fully killed if it collides with its left fragments along with the legendary sword.

The fragments stay in the demon lord's heart when it possesses, so the legendary sword needs to strike the demon lord's heart to fully kill off the evil force.

The real problem is that the legendary sword contains the evil spirit, so it can't be held by any other person.

" It doesn't contain where the sword might be," I said.

" Yeah," Ryker said.

I continued looking and I found something interesting. I called Ryker, and he took a look, too.

The book says that demon lords are chosen through their emotions and will. People who are desperate, driven by greed, anger, whichever favoured the fragments.

The sword is also quite a complex thing; it can't be held by any person. It contains the warrior and the evil force, which makes it even harder to control.

Many heroes have failed trying to control it, disappearing without a single clue. It may only be held by someone who has been chosen by the warrior and the evil force, too.

" How can it be possible?" He said.

" Who knows?" I said.

" Still no clue though where to find it." He said.

" You know the god created the warrior to finish the evil force. Why didn't he do it himself?" I asked.

He responded, "It's written here, look, God created the evil force to keep the world in balance, but it got out of control. So he again created the warriors to restore the balance. You didn't read it carefully, did you?"

" And look at here we are tangled in a story where we have no relation," I said.

" Get to work," he said with a smile.

While we were searching, Tamphasana also came as she was also finding information. She was holding a book.

" Got something?" I asked her.

" Nothing important for now. Just something," she said, and looked at Ryker, who was reading a book so intensely he didn't realize someone was near.

She left to do some more research.

I was just staring at the pages, bored, and then Ryker called me. And show me the book he was reading.

I was reading it and I was shocked.

As the war between humans and demons continues, some people have formed an organisation that believes in the demon lord. Even powerful people began to be involved with them. The king, the nobles, and much more.

It was not in just one place not just one kingdom everywhere cause they wanted to save their own butt.

They will first gain contact with the head organization. They will sacrifice the heroes chosen by the goddess, and if they do it, they will not be hurt by the demon lord if the war is won by the demon lord. Like they have no hope for the heroes.

It was done to protect the demon lord, cause if the heroes were killed, the demon lord would never be defeated.

Tamphasana was passing by. She was shocked to see the book in our hands. She came to us with a terrified face.

" Can you be more careful if someone sees you with this book, you might even be killed. It's a banned book." She said.

" Why?" Ryker asked.

" As you have read, it contains information they might not like others to find out." She responded.

I asked, " Then why is it here?"

" Might be accidentally left while removing banned books from here. More importantly, you can't let anyone see it." She said.

" It does contain some interesting facts about the heroes," Ryker said.

Was Tamphasana a foe or ally cause she also belong to the royal family.
