On the planet Ego.
Sebastian walked through the wilderness. He was feeling the strange ecology of this planet. Perhaps ordinary people would not sense it clearly. But Sebastian could sense a huge anomaly in everything around him. The natural ecology here seemed vibrant and beautiful on the surface. However it was filled with a sense of artificial incompatibility.
Every flower and blade of grass and tree and stone and soil and spring here were like the hair and flesh and blood on a person's body. They had no natural spirituality at all. They were just part of this living planet and nothing more.
Just as Sebastian was about to observe the ecology of this planet more carefully, he suddenly saw a medium-sized spaceship crash directly into the palace-like building on the cliff in front of him. Soon a series of explosions and roars rang out from the building. Strange lights were flashing endlessly from inside.
"Well it is starting now? Then I cannot continue to be a bystander anymore..."
Sebastian muttered to himself. His body moved and transformed into his black raven form. He soared into the sky and flew towards the palace building in front of him.
When Sebastian entered the crumbling palace, he was greeted by a sight of blue-white energy tentacles. The tentacles were restraining a medium-sized spaceship and preventing it from taking off.
Sebastian's sudden arrival also attracted the attention of the others inside.
Rocket Raccoon who was piloting the spaceship immediately shouted out. "What is with that guy? I just saw him fly over here. Is that another one of Ego's clones?"
"No... I do not know who he is. But I know he is not one of Ego's clones. Ego does not make his clones look like that!"
"So what is the deal with this guy then?"
Drax the Destroyer said while listening to Rocket's words. "Maybe he is on a vacation trip and got lost on his way."
Star-Lord and the others did not react much to Drax's literal statement. Their train of thought simply could not follow his logic. Mantis however suddenly burst into laughter. She seemed to be resonating with Drax's thoughts. It was no wonder they were so attracted to each other. This connection would lead Mantis to betray Ego and become a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. After all true friends who understood each other were hard to find.
As the group and Ego were locked in a stalemate, Sebastian suddenly manifested his magic wand in his hand. He gently waved it at the blue and white glowing tentacles. An invisible blade of magic instantly slashed out through the air. It severed the energy tentacles cleanly.
The sudden severance of the tentacles was met with Ego's furious roar from beneath the ground. The medium-sized spaceship was driven by inertia. It crashed through the palace's crumbling ceiling and soared high into the sky. It finally came to a stop in the air.
Just as the Guardians were about to stabilize the spaceship and say something, Sebastian suddenly appeared within the ship. He was accompanied by a twisting vortex of magic.
The next second, everyone drew their weapons and aimed them at Sebastian. Even Rocket Raccoon and Star-Lord and Yondu who were the three pilots at the controls turned around. They pointed their guns and arrows at Sebastian.
"If I remember correctly, I seem to have just helped you a moment ago?"
Hearing Sebastian's words, the others did not relax their guard at all. But Star-Lord tilted his head and said, "If you had not helped us just now, we would have launched our own attack anyway.
So why do you not tell us who you are first? Based on your answer we will decide how to treat you."
"If I say that I came here for tourism and took the wrong road, would you believe that?"
"Ha! I said he took the wrong road while on vacation! You see I was right!"
"Shut up Drax!" This was said by multiple people at once. "I am Groot!" said Groot.
The Guardians of the Galaxy said this in unison to silence Drax.
"Obviously your reasons are not convincing enough."
Looking at Star-Lord, Sebastian smiled and said, "I will not mention why I came here originally. But my purpose in dealing with Ego is real and genuine."
Hearing this statement, the Guardians of the Galaxy looked at each other. They slowly put down their weapons. At the same time Star-Lord said, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend. At least now we are comrades standing on the same side. So let us discuss how to deal with Ego together!"
"Deal with Ego? Peter are we not going to run away from this planet?"
Shaking his head, Star-Lord said to Yondu seriously. "Ego wants to destroy the entire galaxy with his expansion plan. We cannot just watch him do this. We must stop him. So we have to enter the underground core area of the planet now. We need to find Ego's core and completely destroy him!"
As soon as Star-Lord finished speaking, Sebastian immediately said to them. "Leave this task to me. I can let us enter that underground space completely unharmed."
After he finished speaking, a large amount of black smoke suddenly gushed out of Sebastian's body. The smoke wrapped around the entire spaceship. It turned into a super-large black smoke vortex. The ship disappeared from its spot. At the same time it appeared in the core space deep underground. In front of them was the well-defended core of Ego's planetary body!
After feeling nauseous and doing a dry heave, Star-Lord looked at Sebastian and said weakly. "Next time... ugh... unless there is an emergency, please do not take me with you when using this ability."
"... I second that motion."
Looking at Star-Lord and Yondu who both looked sick, Sebastian smiled and nodded. He said to them, "Okay I will remember that preference!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Sebastian suddenly raised his head. He looked towards the ceiling above them. His expression gradually became cold and indifferent.
Seeing Sebastian's changed look, Star-Lord became a little alert. He looked at Sebastian and asked in a low voice. "What is wrong? What do you sense?"
"There is an unexpected complication. It seems that I cannot deal with Ego together with you after all. You will need to deal with him on your own."
"Unexpected complication? What kind of complication?"
"Someone else is coming to this planet."
"Who is coming?"
"Thanos!"
Hearing that name, everyone present had a suffocating expression on their faces. This was especially true for Gamora and Nebula. Both of them even showed clear fear on their faces.
"This is impossible! Why would my father come here to this planet?"
Looking at Nebula, Sebastian said to her calmly. "I do not know how he found out about my location. But he must be coming here because of me."
"You? Who exactly are you? Why did you bring my father here to us?"
Turning to look at the wary Gamora, Sebastian said to her. "I forgot to introduce myself properly. My name is Sebastian Shaw. I am from the planet Earth. I am currently the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am also a wizard."
"Earth? Is that not Peter's home planet?" Yondu looked at Star-Lord in surprise.
"Wizard? What is that?" This question was from Mantis.
"You said your name is Sebastian Shaw?"
Looking at the horrified Gamora, Sebastian said with some surprise. "Why do you have the same reaction when you hear my name as when you hear Thanos's name? I do not seem that scary do I?"
Author's Note: The Guardians have heard of Sebastian Shaw! What reputation has he built across the galaxy? And now Thanos is coming - the battle is about to begin!
