Chapter 19 - chapter-19 I want more

"I guess so, Nappa, I'm excited for this." In reality, I'm not that excited about ending all sentient life on a planet, but if there are strong opponents, I'll want them for myself. Vegeta can have the remaining weaklings, but if there aren't any, well, I don't mind joining the party.

Speaking of which, I don't even know what our mission is, for real.

"Nappa, do you know the mission specs?"

"King Vegeta gave us a mission to wipe out the inhabitants of a planet perfect for the survival of a race that will pay very well for it," he says, waving his hand with a disdainful look. "Unfortunately for the original inhabitants, money talks."

"I hope they're not too weak." I've never killed anything but Saibamen. I hope it's as easy as the protagonists of some stories make it seem.

"How long until we get there?" I ask Nappa.

"About a month," he says. We then fall into an uncomfortable silence for a while until he finally breaks it.

"Tell me, Leekon, your mother's a very strong woman, isn't she? No wonder her son is so strong." He says, completely changing the subject, as he lies back down with a dreamy expression, his hand pressed against his wound. "I was in the audience while you fought the prince and I have to say, you're incredibly strong."

"Thanks, but what are you getting at?" I ask, raising an eyebrow, wondering where he's going with this.

"I heard Vanie had a partner, which is strange, but since she doesn't anymore, she'd be a good breeding partner. Those hips would be perfect for..." Before he could finish his sentence, the last thing he saw was a fist rapidly getting bigger and hitting him hard in the face.

Boom! The sound of the impact echoes through the ship's hospital wing.

"Ugh," he groans as he starts to lose consciousness, and then everything goes black.

"Tch, what an idiot," who says something like that about someone's mother? You might be a character I like, but not so much that I'd let you do... ugh, you know what to my mom.

Looking at the now-opening doors, I see the medical team running into the room, still in their pajamas. Apparently, they were sleeping in the next room.

"What was that sound?" yells one of them who entered first. Soon after, the others arrived too.

Looking around the room, their eyes widened after seeing the big guy's dislocated jaw.

A doctor comes up to me, trying to lecture me: "What did you do?" His words die in his throat when he sees my face, still angry about what Nappa had said.

I sigh, calming down. "There was a mosquito on his face, but he couldn't handle the little slap I gave him to kill it," I say as I walk toward the exit.

As I leave the room, I hear him whisper before starting to treat Nappa: "There are no mosquitoes on a spaceship..."

Hearing that, I stop, turn around, and slowly walk back. Seeing me turn around, he quickly puts his hands over his mouth in despair, as if trying to erase what he'd said.

Then, I finally get face-to-face with him. I look up, and my eyes meet his.

Sweat starts to pour down his face like a fountain, his hands trembling as if they were a blender. Then, he hears: "Where's the mess hall?"

"Huh?" He cocks his head in confusion, his expectations completely shattered.

"Are you deaf or something? Where's the mess hall?" I ask again with the most serious face I can muster: 'Messing with these guys is pretty fun, hehe~'.

Right after that, he shows me the way, and I easily find a huge and always-good meal to replenish my energy after a recovery like mine.

When I finished eating, I asked the guy distributing the supplies where the dorms were, and he showed me the place. I entered the first empty room I found.

Before leaving the medical wing, I had taken the scouter Nappa was wearing, since he wouldn't need it for a while, and, sitting on the dorm bed, I started to disassemble it.

It's impressive technology. It can, obviously, measure the power of nearby life forms, and it's also a communicator. But it can also connect to the entertainment networks of the universe's biggest powers to listen to music and watch movies and shows.

But what I wanted to do was remove the communicator and information transmission options, mainly because I didn't know who would see when I measured my power.

It took me a long time to get it done, but it ended up working. Sort of. It lost the music-playing option along with the other monitoring options. A big loss, but oh well, I could measure my power without being paranoid.

So I do it; the number starts to go up and up quickly.

2000 5000 9000 15000 And finally stopping at 21,329.

I underestimated my power a little earlier, but fortunately, it's higher than I thought it would be. When I arrived in this world a few months ago, my power was no more than 700, and I've already reached this level in a short time. I'm 30 times stronger than when I started. I hope to surpass this limit and achieve much, much more.

Then, I finally lie down on the bed and can barely sleep with how much I wanted to train and get even stronger.

I want more power.
