Chapter 222 - Chapter 222: Kaitō Kid Delivered to Their Door?!

The moment Zhang Yang posted the update, all the doubts from netizens were instantly cleared up.

First, Kaitō Kid had left the manor right after showing up—he didn't stick around at all.

Second, Victor and his team had rushed back to the Enforcement Bureau not because they had caught Kaitō Kid.

Of course, Bruce and the others quickly noticed Zhang Yang's new post.

Actually, Victor wasn't all that familiar with Sherrson.

As the Enforcement Bureau's chief agent in France, Victor didn't necessarily know every criminal from the Eagle Nation.

But Bruce knew all about him—and had even worked with Sherrson on a mission in the past.

Later, when Sherrson stole a federal vault worth over one hundred million dollars, Bruce was the one who personally handled the case.

"Sherrson? He got an invitation too?"

Bruce's face went dark. Before this, Sherrson had been a proper FBI agent.

His skills and qualifications were top-notch—no question about it.

Zhang Yang's post was crystal clear. Just like Jeff and Maket before, he was signaling them to act.

With A-class fugitives popping up one after another in France, it was already stirring up a lot of public outrage among French citizens.

"Damn it, is the French Enforcement Bureau full of useless idiots? How are so many dangerous fugitives getting in?"

"Shit! And the one spotting all of them is Kaitō Kid—a world-class thief!"

"The Bureau seriously needs to clean house. At the very least, Victor isn't doing a great job right now!"

"How the hell does Kaitō Kid know where these people are?"

"Hahaha, what a slap in the face! Might as well let Kaitō Kid handle the agent's job!"

These should've been their missions, but instead, Kaitō Kid found every target first.

By any logic, this shouldn't be happening.

"Director Victor, we need to deploy a full search for that pickup truck right now!"

"If we can't give the public a proper result regarding Sherrson, the backlash will be brutal!"

Victor and the others had already been to the vault—they knew the Imperial Jade Seal of Empress Dowager Tianyuan had been stolen.

Victor cursed through gritted teeth and immediately began coordinating the operation.

This wasn't a situation where they could afford to hesitate. There were no other options.

Ten minutes later, Victor, Bruce, and Harrison came downstairs with a full team.

The reporters waiting outside rushed over at once.

"Director Victor, have you seen Kaitō Kid's latest post?"

"Director Bruce, records show Sherrson is a former Eagle Nation FBI agent. How much do you know about him?"

"Can the three of you tell us what Sherrson is doing in France this time?"

Faced with the livestream cameras, they said nothing.

They kept their mouths shut and gave no response.

Netizens watching the stream couldn't help but comment.

"Tsk tsk, out of all the agents in the world, these three are taking all the heat!"

"Hahaha, just dealing with Kaitō Kid is hard enough—and now France is a hotspot for world-class fugitives!"

"Does this count as overtime for them?"

"Sherrson is no joke. He's ex-FBI. Definitely not an easy guy to catch!"

"If they can't catch Kaitō Kid, fine. But if they let Sherrson slip too... tsk tsk tsk..."

Just as they were brushing off the media and getting ready to leave—

Suddenly, the screeching sound of tires echoed through the road.

Zhang Yang's car came speeding in, drifting sharply and parking right in front of the plaza outside the building.

Sherrson's pickup truck charged forward, aiming straight at Zhang Yang's car without the slightest attempt to slow down.

At that moment, Sherrson was completely blinded by rage. All he could see was Zhang Yang's vehicle, totally ignoring where he was.

Just as the pickup was about to crash, Zhang Yang floored it and darted away. The tail end of his car was clipped, sending it spinning before he accelerated off again.

Victor and the others pushed past the reporters, and when they saw the pickup barreling toward them, they froze in shock.

"Fuck! Move!"

The pickup screeched to a halt, and Victor's team immediately raised their guns and surrounded it.

Viewers in the livestream were stunned. They'd just been debating whether Sherrson could be caught—and now he'd delivered himself right to their doorstep.

"What the hell? Is this guy turning himself in?"

"Was that Kaitō Kid in the car just now?"

"Oh my god! Is Kaitō Kid really a master thief? Or just the guy hand-delivering fugitives to the Enforcement Bureau?"

"Hahaha, direct delivery service! Kaitō Kid's doing the job for them!"

"Kaitō Kid: If you let him escape again, that's on you!"

This was truly a gift served on a silver platter. Sherrson finally snapped to his senses.

"Fuck! Damn that Kaitō Kid!"

He reached over to grab the gun from the passenger seat, threw the car into reverse, and tried to flee.

But Bruce had already noticed the move. He fired without hesitation, blowing out the tires. The two sudden gunshots startled everyone present.

"Sherrson, hands up. Get out slowly!"

"You're already caught. Don't resist!"

Bruce moved quickly, leading from the front.

He didn't want to see Sherrson get shot to pieces. After all, they had once served together in the FBI.

Sherrson recognized Bruce too. After a brief pause, he gave up and lowered his weapon, slowly raising his hands.

The agents rushed up, yanked the door open, and pulled him out of the truck.

Once the cuffs were on, everyone finally let out a sigh of relief.

The livestream exploded with excitement.

"Holy crap, this is the second time Kaitō Kid's helped catch someone! Someone give this man a medal!"

"Sherrson's an A-class global fugitive. A 'Good Samaritan' award doesn't cut it!"

"Shit! Victor and his crew are such a joke. They need a thief to do their job!"

"Hahaha, zero violence, full humiliation!"

"Bet Victor's face is burning. If it were me, I'd be digging a hole to hide in!"

Bruce stepped in front of Sherrson, his expression complicated. But with media and global livestreams everywhere, there were things he couldn't say here.

"Take him back and lock him up."

With that order, Sherrson was led away by Enforcement Bureau agents.

They had just been preparing to head out—and ended up nabbing their target right at the door.

Reporters swarmed the entrance, blocking Victor and his team from getting back inside.

"Director Victor, was Kaitō Kid driving the car that got hit earlier?"

"Sir, did the Bureau know ahead of time that Sherrson was in France?"

"Will the Bureau release the results of Sherrson's interrogation?"

Agents pushed back the reporters while Victor, Bruce, and Harrison walked away with their heads down, looking thoroughly defeated.

Getting shown up by a master thief who delivered a fugitive they couldn't even locate—how could they not be embarrassed?
