Chapter 176 - We're not allied with the devils!

On the playground of Kuoh Academy, under the control of Xenovia and Irina, the two holy swords shone brightly, and their powerful sacred auras radiated outward, spreading to every corner of Kuoh Town.

Roy gazed at the beam of light formed by the sacred flames, sensing the surrounding atmosphere.

[A random task has been generated. Please check it.]

Suddenly, the system's voice, silent for days, echoed in Roy's mind.

Roy couldn't help but feel elated and opened the system panel to review the random task.

Random task: The Fallen Angel Cadre's Ambition

Task content: Defeat Kokabiel head on and thwart his plan.

Task Reward: 150,000 dimension points.

'What a considerate system.'

Defeating Kokabiel was already part of his plan, and this random task was a pleasant bonus.

Although the rewards weren't substantial, combined with his original plan, he could earn a significant amount of dimension points.

No one would refuse such an opportunity.

"Here he comes," Roy announced, withdrawing his consciousness from the system panel.

His eyes locked onto the night sky, alerting the others.

The gazes of Rias, Sona, and the others turned skyward.

A sudden wave of unease surged in everyone's hearts, not an illusion, but an instinctual reaction to impending danger, urging them to flee.

This was a threat beyond their individual strength, one that could lead to their demise.

The next moment, a terrifying pressure descended upon Kuoh Academy, and it weighed heavily on everyone's hearts.

The night sky, initially bright with a luminous moon, was now overshadowed by a dark figure.

There was no doubt that both the unsettling palpitations and the overwhelming pressure emanated from this figure.

Under the moonlight, the figure was strikingly clear: long black hair draped over their shoulders, ten black wings spread wide, and a slender frame clad in an exquisite black robe.

The ranks of angels and fallen angels are determined by the number of wings.

The highest rank, whether angel or fallen angel, possesses six pairs, twelve wings.

The figure before them, hovering above Kuoh Academy, was just one step below that pinnacle.

However, unlike the typically handsome appearance of those figures, which aligned with human aesthetics, this fallen angel's visage was somewhat ferocious.

"Kokabiel!" Rias and Sona whispered his name in unison.

Although they had never seen this infamous fallen angel in person, there was no doubt he was the mastermind behind this incident.

Upon spotting Kokabiel, Xenovia and Irina immediately ceased releasing the holy swords aura, gripping their weapons tightly and facing him as if confronting a formidable enemy.

Only through direct experience did they realize Kokabiel's overwhelming power.

His unrestrained pressure alone was suffocating.

Both knew that, with their current strength, they stood no chance against him.

Even if Xenovia wielded another complete holy sword like Durandal, their odds of victory remained slim.

Their earlier hopes of defeating Kokabiel were merely wishful thinking born of misjudgment.

"I didn't expect you guys to team up with devils," Kokabiel sneered, his scarlet eyes scanning the group below with a twisted smile.

"We're not allied with the devils," Irina retorted.

"For now, we share a common goal."

After being defeated, she and Xenovia had no choice but to assist the devils in luring Kokabiel.

"It doesn't matter," Kokabiel said with contempt.

"I hope you do join forces. It'll make things less boring."

"Less boring?" Sona gave a wry smile.

Excluding Roy, even their combined strength would struggle to inflict meaningful damage on Kokabiel.

"Are you the Gremory heiress?" Kokabiel's gaze settled on Rias, a provocative smirk on his face.

"This is our first meeting, but your crimson hair reminds me of your insufferable brother. It's nauseating."

"Kokabiel!" Rias met his gaze unflinchingly.

"What's your purpose in coming to Kuoh Town? Are you truly trying to spark a three factions war by bringing the holy swords into my territory?"

Kokabiel's actions, manipulating the church duo, were driven by his desire to ignite a three factions war.

To provoke conflict between the church and the devils, Rias felt compelled to confront him publicly about his intentions.

If Roy's suspicions were correct, it would be ideal.

If not, they'd have time to adapt.

"What's that?" Kokabiel feigned boredom, spreading his hands.

"As expected of Sirzechs's sister, you've seen through me."

"It's true!" Xenovia and Irina gasped, shocked that Roy's prediction was accurate.

Kokabiel's goal wasn't just the holy swords.

He intended to use them as a catalyst to trigger a new three factions war.

A chill ran through the church duo, mingled with a sense of relief.

Had Roy not anticipated Kokabiel's plan, they might have failed their mission and become unwitting pawns in his scheme.
