Chapter 175 - We’re counting on you

Chapter 175 - We're counting on you

Based on her knowledge of everyone, only Roy could have that powerful aura.

No one else had such potential.

"Exactly," Rias nodded slightly.

"The first time I saw Roy's Balance Breaker, we were all stunned."

Sona sighed inwardly.

She had once seen Roy's potential and considered recruiting him into her peerage.

However, with other options and Roy's difficult demeanor, she had passed.

She hadn't expected his potential to far exceed her imagination, repeatedly shattering her expectations.

"With Roy's strength, he has a strong chance against Kokabiel," Sona pondered.

The Boosted Gear being a longinus could reach god slaying levels when pushed to its limit.

Kokabiel, who had survived the three factions War was formidable.

Yet, based on past records, Roy's power gave him a clear edge in a direct clash.

If they could lure Kokabiel out, they might resolve this threat.

"First, evacuate the civilians around the school. Kuoh Academy could become a battlefield," Roy added.

"Then, set up a large barrier to shield the school, ensuring outsiders can't see what's happening inside."

In the modern era, supernatural events needed to remain hidden from the public to avoid unnecessary trouble.

Preemptive measures would minimize complications.

Rias and Sona acted swiftly, clearing the remaining people from the school.

Together, they erected a massive semicircular barrier enveloping Kuoh Academy, though they deliberately left a gap at the center.

"Honestly, this barrier can only reduce damage," Sona said with a sigh.

"If Kokabiel goes all out, not just the school but the entire city could be destroyed."

A fallen angel cadre's power was terrifying, capable of leveling cities with ease.

"Then I'll take him down before he breaks the barrier," Roy said with a smile.

"We're counting on you," Sona nodded.

"Rias and I will maintain the barrier to keep your fight from affecting the outside world."

Demonic power was versatile.

If damage was confined to the school, they could restore it after the battle.

The next day passed uneventfully, like any other.

"It's up to you two," Roy said, looking at Xenovia and Irina.

The barrier's large range had taken time to set up and by now, the sky had darkened, signaling the right moment.

"Got it," Irina said, her face full of reluctance as she raised Excalibur Mimic.

Xenovia, now awake from her coma, gripped Excalibur Destruction.

She glared at Roy and said, "When this is over, I'll avenge my humiliation."

"Are you sure you're not just asking for more?" Roy retorted.

"I still have an unused holy sword!" Xenovia replied with some hidden confidence.

Being instantly defeated by Roy earlier had been humiliating, but it wasn't her full strength.

As a dual holy sword wielder, Xenovia also wielded Durandal, a complete holy sword rivaling Excalibur itself.

"I haven't used my Longinus either," Roy shrugged off.

Xenovia fell silent, raising Excalibur Destruction and aligning it with Irina's Excalibur Mimic.

A powerful sacred aura erupted from the two swords.

As fragments of the same original Excalibur, they resonated under the control of their wielders, amplifying the sacred energy several times over.

The resulting holy aura surged skyward, forming a beam visible only to those in the supernatural world, escaping through the barrier's gap and spreading across Kuoh Town.

They could sense the holy swords presence.

In a quiet corner of Kuoh Town, in an unoccupied villa, magic circle glowed on the ground.

Three swords, radiating a sacred aura similar to Xenovia and Irina's, floated above the circle.

The swords bobbed and rotated slowly, as if on the verge of merging.

"Valper, how's your experiment progressing?" Kokabiel asked, floating in the sky and looking down.

"It's in the final stage. The three holy swords can merge at any moment," replied a portly man in a white researcher's outfit, his eyes gleaming with fanaticism.

This was Valper Galilei, the man Kiba despised most.

"However, the power from merging the three holy swords doesn't seem enough to destroy all of Kuoh Town," Valper added. "With one more, it could work."

Their goal was to unleash the energy from the merged holy swords to obliterate the town.

"What a hassle," Kokabiel glanced at Valper, sending a chill through him.

Working with a fallen angel was as dangerous as it was opportunistic.

Then, Kokabiel's gaze shifted toward a distant sacred beam of light.

"The Church's holy swords are in Kuoh Town," he said, grinning with interest.

"That's coming from Kuoh Academy, isn't it? The school with the two Maou's sisters."

"They're releasing holy swords in devil territory. Are they teaming up with the devils to lure me out?" he said, his crazed smile widening. His sharp senses quickly pieced together the situation.

"Kokabiel, are you saying the church is working with the devils?" Valper asked, looking a bit surprised.

"I don't know," Kokabiel replied.

"But it doesn't matter. If they're collaborating, that's even better."

For him, more factions in play only heightened the chaos.

"Still need another holy sword?" Kokabiel said, staring at the beam with a twisted smile.

"They're practically begging me to show up. It'd be boring not to."

With that, he spread his five pairs of wings and flew toward Kuoh Academy.

Valper grabbed the three holy swords and summoned three exorcists, his subordinates from his Church days.

Flanked by them, he hurriedly followed Kokabiel toward the school.
