Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

RAE POV

Jerome choked me as he pushed me back into the room and pinned me to a wall, his eyes filled with malice and a clear murderous intent. I struggled and wriggled, trying to get out from his grip as I felt the life get suck out of me but it was of no avail, he was far more stronger than me and I didn't stand a chance against him in a fight.

Is this where I die? Mercilessly choked by the werewolf I spent my entire life helping and supporting? The werewolf I gave myself to? The father of my child?

This is cruel, too cruel! I cannot accept this, I haven't even let him get a true taste of my revenge yet!

Jerome started laughing out of nowhere like the true maniac he is. His sudden laughter is concerning for me, now that he's got me, he might not kill me just yet as it'll be too quick, he likes the thrill of watching someone at death's door.

He abruptly stopped laughing and with a dark and sinister expression, he leans closer, "I honestly didn't expect such a move from you, when we were together, you never dared to do a public display of affection. You were never this bold, well I guess beyond the new plaything of a lycan must come with a will confidence."

He then leaned to my ear, the sound of his breathing filled the room, "I'm sorry to bust your little bubble and destroy the little confidence you have, but that little stunt will lead you nowhere. It doesn't affect me nor will it level you up. You'll always be the pathetic whore you always have been."

"Well if you work hard, he might decide to keep you longer." He added, feigning nonchalant but I knew very well I struck a nerve and he was pained. I don't care if that did nothing to help my situation, just seeing him like this is a victory that I don't mind being choked up any more.

"But don't forget, no matter how hard you try, you'll never fit in here or anywhere. You'll always be just a toy, a pastime for him and soon he'll get bored by you just like I did."

"When he does, you'll be wishing you had to deal with me instead and staying alive will be the least of your worries. You'll come begging to have me back." He smirked, loud at himself.

I couldn't just let him continue talking without me, I was excited and happy to know my actions weren't for nothing. My disturbance at his ceremony caused him problems and I couldn't let go of the opportunity to further anger him more so he understands the anger I feel. No. He'll never get the anger I feel towards him but still.

I grabbed his hands, trying to speak, he probably noticed this and was curious to know what I have to say and loosen his grip on me.

"No matter how you try to hide it, I know you're burning in rage because you're here instead of her. I'm glad, so glad to see you like this." I forced out a smirk "You're mad that I didn't end up as bad and brutal as you thought it would be."

I saw his anger rise as I spoke but I didn't care. His grip on my neck tightened, and it became even harder to breathe or talk any more. It's okay though, I've already said all I had to say and I regret nothing.

I saw the murderous intent in his eyes grow deeper, and I started to get terrified again. Because of my provocations he probably might lose his senses and just end up killing me despite me being Alpha Kendrick's possession now.

Fortunately, as if he sensed my danger and was summoned, Alpha Kendrick barged in, slamming the door before he walked in.

Unfortunately, Jerome was quick enough to free his grip before Alpha Kendrick saw and I fell to the floor with a thud, my legs refused to work not did I have any strength to make it work, I stayed plopped on the ground.

Jerome walked up to Alpha Kendrick while I laid on the floor, gasping for air like a fish out of water.

Jerome greeted Alpha Kendrick like he wasn't about to kill someone moments ago. His voice was calm and steady, nothing like the irrational werewolf that was choking me moments ago.

To divert his attention, he brought up the discussion about where their pack house will be and lied he was looking for him to discuss that with him, so everything will be finalized.

Alpha Kendrick didn't answer him but Instead glared at him, his gaze was the most hostile I've ever seen him, then again, have I ever seen Alpha Kendrick like this?

"What the fuck happened here?" he demanded, his voice was filled with urgency and authority.

"I came looking for you but found her here instead and she attacked me when we met so I flung her away as a self-defence." He lied.

Silence ensued and from the foreboding look on Alpha Kendrick's face, I could tell he wasn't convinced. I was tempted to tell him the truth and get Jerome in trouble just to see what will happen next.

Will Alpha Kendrick punish him or will everything be forgiven with a warning but I decided it shouldn't matter. I wanted to enact revenge on Jerome on my own without Alpha Kendrick's help.

"He's right." I spoke up, "his face infuriates me and seeing alone, I thought I could sneak attack him and kill him." I lied.

Alpha Kendrick stared at me, a look in his eyes that I couldn't quite decipher. "Leave immediately." He ordered Jerome

"Yes." Jerome immediately made for the door.

"Rae is mine now," Alpha Kendrick said before Jerome could leave, he turned to him and with a dominating aura, he continued, "Don't you dare touch my property again or else, I'll destroy you."
