Now that I had more hands on deck, I decided to try building a wall the next day. I had not received any alert about enemy forces yet thankfully. I wanted to make sure that I and my golem family were secure and well fortified from any sudden attacks.
I first created a few sturdy villager golems and sent these to cut down wood for building the wall. It was surprising to see how quickly they worked. All of them were able to summon their own axes. I too worked alongside them. As they picked up the wood, it immediately vanished, and each time it vanished, I received a notification on my status box saying that more wood had been added to my stockpile. In this way, working together, we were able to gather around ten thousand logs of wood.
We then spent another hour pounding away at the ground to set up our palisade wall. Together, we were able to build it section by section. Each section took us around twenty minutes to set up. Finally, at the end of another two hours, we were able to set up a good strong palisade wall.
We also ended up constructing two wooden outpost buildings outside the gate on either side. In my old world when I played the game the outpost buildings were completely useless and only served as decoys warning us of approaching enemies. Here however, I resolved to station two military units to guard the entrance to the gate on either side of the outposts once i constructed a Barracks. Night soon dawned after this hard work. I sent the villager golems to idle away and retired for the night into the town center building. My mind had almost completely turned into a machine after all those repetitive movements in building walls.
