Chapter 163 - A Once Facade - Part 2

Lue, in his shiny grey armor, took precise steps as he slowly unsheathed his sword, walking toward the group of four bandits. They sweated profusely, backed into a corner.

Perfect execution, cornered them on the boundary of the deep dark forest where monsters dwelled, they couldn't pass it without dying and so, it was a perfect wall to corner them against.

The group of three in the back stood perfectly against a deep backdrop of a pitch black forest, with a member of their group holding a sword far away in front of them, pointing his worn down weapon towards Lue.

Immediately after he unsheathed the rest of his sword, he lunged forward without a second of hesitation and appeared right in front of the bandit, slashing his sword in half.

"huh?" the bandit muttered as his top half of the body flew in the air, intestines spilling out of his guts.

With a Thud his body fell behind Lue, his legs kept standing still for a while before toppling backwards. One dead, three left.

In fear they trembled as they held their weapons in front of themselves, a shield, sword and a bow.

"P-p-please, l-l-leave us! We are sorry, w-we promise we'll be good!" the man with a shield said as sweat overtook him.

"y-yes! We beg you!" The bowman's voice trembled as his eyes barely kept their composure.

But in response Lue stayed silent, in that second Mytri tapped him on the shoulder saying "Lue. I got this," he said as he walked past him while the bandits tightly gripped their weapons.

Without any sheer interest, Mytri walked silently, his shoulders striding as he kept his sword to his side.

His tattered cloth caressed by the wind, and the red fabric atop his helmet in a constant ripple, like a snake climbing the tree moved as Mytri came ever closer to them.

As the situation got to them, the bandits started sweating blood as they gripped tightly their weapon, but Mytri neither was bothered nor unfazed by this.

"P-Please let us go!" The shieldmen begged, his voice cracked under pressure, but with a menacing look, Mytri ignored them, and walked past them.

The bandits' eyes shot wide open as they sighed with relief. But the next second, they realized their bodies had been cut clean through the middle. Their eyes rolled into their skulls. Splitting open, they toppled and hit the ground with a sickening thud.

Mytri raised his hands and took off his helmet. His black hair, streaked with white, glided on the air as he turned toward Lue.

"That's how you do it, son."

And Lue did the same saying "You're such a show off, dad,"

"You say?" Mytri chuckled with his eyes closed,

"Well yeah, but I sense one more person here, you too?" Mytri asked as his red cape lifted and fell on the wind.

"yes,"

"But… where?" Lue looked around the forest but noticed no one, With a smirk Mytri looked into the darkness of the forest saying "He's there,"

Gripping his sword he lifted it above his shoulder and tightened his muscle, throwing it forward.

With an explosion in the wind, the sword flew—in between the trees, through a crack in a trunk—and slashed at the fully cloaked man's hood. He wore a skull necklace over his shoulder, which thrashed as he jumped backwards, barely avoiding the attack.

He glared at Mytri. Mytri glanced back at him and said, "Is that all you got?"

Mytri smiled warmly with his eyes closed, wrinkling his mouth as he added, "coward."

As his eyes opened—a swarm of undead beasts swarmed him. Undead wolves, birds, and every type of animal that resided in the forest trampled over him, pushing him to the ground as they piled into a pile of dead.

Lue laughed enthusiastically as he placed his helmet back on his head saying "Don't worry dad…"With a glimmer in his eyes through the slit of the helmet he added "I got you!'

He lifted his sword towards the figure, who was covered fully in a black cloak with a skull necklace over his neck, observing his every move.

At that moment, the cloaked man clasped his hands. Two green swirls, moving in the same direction, materialized behind him. Immediately after, two skeleton heads broke through as the creatures crawled out. Their size was monstrous—twice as tall as Lue himself, at least four meters!

Standing barehanded, the skeleton with its bones clacking slowly stepped back. Lue kept his attention on it for a second, but the monster on the left disappeared. Looking around, Lue couldn't find it. At that second, it appeared beside him. With a tight grip, it struck Lue in his side, sending him crashing into a tree.

Lue gripped his side as he fixed the dent in his armor. "Ahg, so that's your strength… Pretty mild, I have to say, heh!"

"Bring it on!" Lue shouted as he sheathed his sword, gripping his hands into fists as he prepared himself to fight.
