"Hey shinya!!! Come over here dude!!!" Said Irene as she pressured shinya to come over to her as she had a huge smile across her face and waved her arm.
Through the water shinya traversed with the now wet scroll in his pocket he could only wonder the actual contents of what it could truly be afterall.
Ignoring that for a second thought he snapped back to reality as he went closer and closer to Irene and Lucas seeing Lucas with a stern look on his face shinya said something.
"What's wrong why do you look like that?" Said shinya to Lucas before Irene interjected and stated something that was very clearly not the obvious.
"Well he's mad… cause I want to open the treasure chest and take the treasure inside of it." Said Irene with puppy dog eyes on her face.
With all three of them standing in the tiny little island that held the treasure chest on it. With their clothes water and extremely wrinkled. They honestly were completely exhausted by this point though none of them would point it out cause the other two knew it too.
"Well let's take it to a vote then why don't we" said Irene eagerly.
"Alright then." Said Lucas not even bothering so say anymore words at all.
"Alright then let's do that" said shinya.
When suddenly both of the hands went up. Both Irene's and shinyas hands went up.
"Are you guys actually serious can't you see how bad of a trap this actually is? This is literally a set up that we should all die that's what your asking for yknow that right to take the treasure from the lake is like asking for a death scentence no matter how good the loot seems to be it just couldn't be that good there's no way" said Lucas with absolute certainty and confidence in what he was saying.
"Well uhhh maybe your right afterall!! But you know in life you never got anywhere if you didn't do anything at all that was slightly challenging or risky yknow!!" Said Irene perhaps trying to persuade him or not caring at this point and just using her natural charm against the boys.
"Look either way now's the chance we decided on what we're going to do open the damn box then" said shinya
As Irene opened the box there was several scrolls and several piles of gold and medals and other jewels, jewels like Sophie's and diamonds and emeralds things all worth such a large quality and so much quantity it was actually insane entirely that this was even a thing like this, that this small chest could inhabit such prized possessions it seemed almost unreal like. The dazzling super borderline phantasmal colors of the jewels and other things did actually excite all three of them in the end. With obviously Irene being the first to speak up.
"Ooh!! Gimme gimme" said Irene with a huge grin plastered across her face as she grabbed a handful of the jewels and tried to fit them in her pocket as many as she could even Lucas hesitantly grabbed a couple of the jewels. In shinyas mind though he could only think of one word.
Greed.
Greed had destroyed the lives of hundreds or even thousands even millions shinya did not feel like he should be greedy in this situation, he felt like somebody had to be the civilized of the three.
Just then suddenly it came from nowhere suprising all three of them.
A massive roar a roar big enough to shake the skies and cause massive upheaval and trauma all around the area. It was an insane sound so life threatening and scary it left entire nations and continents to stop what they were doing.
It was the roar of a serpent a water serpent a descendant of a dragon. What could be considered the second strongest before a dragon itself and more then anything it was dangerous. It was even seen as more dangerous than the dragon though.
Since the dragon was territorial but would not cause commotion or fights rarely unless somebody intruded and started it first the serpent was different entirely though. Its aggressive nature was known throughout the land that it inhabited entirely.
Shockingly it was right in front of their eyes the dragon descendent the sea serpent.
Fear absolute fear. Was the only emotion shinya could use to describe his feelings now as he looked at what should be considered death wholeheartedly
