It was honestly unbelievable the events that had just happened the events that had just unfolded it honestly more than anything made Shinya feel a sense of urgency.
He had to get stronger, and he had to get stronger fast there so he could protect himself and his newfound comrades.
On the other side of the top of the waterfall was two shadowy figures.
"Well honestly do they even have any chance within the tournament to get to the top 8? Let alone actually win it I very much doubt it." Said one of the figures his frame was very tall with a bald head and a certain calmness in his voice that could be said to resonate with the wild animals.
Next to him was the other man a man in all black dressed like he just came from a funeral a extremely pulverizing attire that one could not mistake it. It seemed to be absolutely terrifying in a sense a man that seemed it be straight out of a horror fairytale he seemed to be.
"Do not worry for those children shall grow and through that growth they shall know pain. "Said the second shadowy figure the one dressed in all black his characteristics and the other one's characteristics still too hard to figure out Afterall.
Suddenly Shinya realized as the arrow began to move on its own. He thought he was seeing things at first but then it happened the arrow started to wiggle to the right just a little bit for a while. Perhaps it was a controlled arrow, Shinya's thoughts started to wonder around a bit before the truth was shown to him faster than he could think about it. It was the elf himself standing right in front of Shinya now his tall, elegant frame blocked Shinya's field of vision.
"Hey Shinya, what's wrong??" Screamed Irene from far away as she slowly got closer to Shinya just for Lucas to stop her in her tracks waving his arm to block her from going forward.
The elf just stood there for a couple seconds completely looking down on Shinya almost as if he was an ant himself.
"Hmmmm it seems that you are of no stature and no demeanor yet some filthy creature like you could think of a strategy to defeat the water serpent so for that I would like to applaud you human. You had the strength and bravery to sacrifice your life so that your friends could live and for that I find you commendable. It is not something easy to do and requires real willpower, tell me what your name is human." Said the elf man staring directly into Shinya's soul it seemed like as his bright blue Ish green Ish eyes radiated his aura,
"Shinya... my name is Shinya." said Shinya in a hesitant tone but trying to sound confident besides that.
"Well, Shinya just know I congratulate you for what you did and because of that I shall tell you my clans name and my name, "Said the elf.
Eagerly waiting on his response Shinya had his ears at full attention for the man's answer.
"My name is Legolas and my clans name is Fiery and don't forget it at all as we may cross paths way more in the future regarding any other participants within the tournament honestly I'm not sure, everyone seems quite far away from each other I mean it is known only one person can be the winner but I do not really see it this way I think the issues of this tournament can be resolved and they lie in _____" Said the elf as his words became almost beeped out like a cussword on a tv.
"Uh sir Legolas well what you said it seems that it quite literally wouldn't come out of your mouth" said Shinya with angst in his voice.
"Ahem well yes that would make sense since this is streamed across the whole world, we can't have spoilers all the way at the start, can we? Well disregarding any of that it seems that we must do what we can for now to continue the tournament in the regulated way it seems." Said the elf now backing away from Shinya and looking closer over the distance.
"You see in the distance there is a castle and in that castle is a king and you must slay the king to keep going in the tournament I learned this information from another tournament player. As to whether or not is true I guess none of us have any idea if it is or not. "Said the elf with confusion in his voice.
Lucas was the first to speak up "Wait so then what does that mean for those that don't slay the king what does that mean for us then??" Said Lucas eagerly with borderline anger in his voice but also curious.
"Well honestly, I'm not sure at all and I'm not sure how reliable that information is either, but it appears we are on one of the Contestants that is for certain either that or the contestants got copied in a way like digitally and transferred here. Either way while I am not certain I am sure that the king has something to do with ending this hell hole of an escape, I'm sure you guys have seen it this place is not real. None of it is real it looks like candy but is really the corpses and guts of the previous dead. There is no real food here only cannibalism. "Said Legolas with a dead serious face it was clear he was not playing about this at all this was the truth and all three of them knew this too.
"Though it seems like my time is up here soon I must leave I must find the king in my own way so pardon my intrusion Shinya and the others we shall meet again soon I promise." Said the elf bowing down his tall frame in front of the three before completely disappearing in the thin air like he appeared to them before.
"This is utterly fucking ridiculous if I'm being honest "Said Lucas with a straight face.
"So, were being asked to kill the king? Or have him held hostage what exactly is the end goal here anyway?" Said Irene this time with curiosity inside of her voice it was clearly hurting her in some way shape or form just how all this situation was playing out.
More than anything Shinya was intrigued perhaps this was the lead that they had needed to keep going and try to explore the truth behind the world that they had been so utterly thrown in. Peering his eyes off into the top of the waterfall to see all three figures standing on different corners of its Shinya turned his eyes back to the two friends in front of him.
Knowing that he would keep both of them alive no matter what.
