A half man half machine a crazy conclusion to come to yet it was obviously true in front of Shinya's eyes.
What he saw in front of him was a man with his ligaments and muscles replaced by bolts` and screws. Where his blood should be is replaced by what seemed to be bright blue liquid with bubbles inside of it going across his body made from these cylinders embezzled deep inside of him with half of his face falling off showing the mechanical side of it. A bright blue mechanical gear shifting eye and circuit boards for a face.
It was utterly ridiculous and such a surprising event to Shinya who had not actually known Lucas or what he truly was to see him like this take the bullet for all three of them.
Just when they thought it could better though it of course couldn't as while the gun beam did damage the water serpent it had not fallen to the ground at all. It was at this moment that both Shinya and Lucas realized they had to do more to take the creature down. They had to do more to show just how powerful they were in case anyone was watching.
As they saw the serpent rise above once again with a clearly visibly flesh damage to its right side perhaps where its heart could be their best guess. Shinya knew he had to step up now and do more after all.
Hey bastard!!! Yelled Shinya as he tried to grab ahold of the serpent's attention trying to distract it, luckily it managed to work since it was absolutely enraged it didn't waste any time. As it yelled out its deafening roar and began swimming towards Shinya.
"RAORRRRRR"
Shouted the serpent right before going underneath the water towards Shinya, it was just then that Shinya readied himself with a bullet in the chamber and Lucas readied his sniper far in the distance. Shinya began to run away deeper into the water looking around at his surroundings.
He saw a rock above the water that he could grab a hold onto. It was just about whether or not he could manage to get to it in time before the serpent ultimately took his life and the potential life of those around him.
Running farther away he began to reach towards the rock. He was just steps away from it eventually just barely reaching it reaching it with his fingertips. He could feel the cold embrace of the rock that he could only hope wouldn't break when the serpent raised up and tried to take his life.
Rising above out of the water was the serpent again as it stared directly into Shinya's eyes. A massive steam of heat residue came out of its mouth as it started to open it. Without giving it even a moment's notice Shinya took his shot.
"Eat this fucker!!" Shouted Shinya raising the gun up towards its eyes.
The bullet from the gun reaching deep into its eye socket as it screeched out in pain. The crystal-clear blood flooding out from its eye now as well as its side that was nearly cut off, though Lucas and Shinya both knew that would not be enough as Lucas readied his sniper in the shallower end of the water.
"BOOOM!!"
Was the sound of Shinya's beam as it rushed through the wind and right above the water reaching towards the same side of the serpent.
"ROARRRRRRR"
The serpent cried out a mighty roar a mighty thunder it was almost just enough to take down the creature with blood leaking from it in several areas, but it wasn't. As Shinya could only sit there as the creature in front of him with rage pure enough to slaughter children stared directly at him with fury intent on destroying his very existence.
It raised up even higher than it had even before and began to open its mouth this time it was different though. It didn't seem like it was going to use the beam of water at Shinya.
As teeth began to sprawl out of its mouth teeth it had not shown before. It was clear it planned on eating him. Just from a glance his brain had registered that within just a few seconds Afterall. He had no time to even react all he could do was sit there as the creature's mouth to begin to open wider and come closer to his very head.
The encompassing of the creature's mouth as it reached inch by inch closer to Shinya's head. This wasn't just fear this was a matter of survival in which case he wouldn't survive. As he watched both Lucas and Irene both scream and frantically run towards him its like all time had stopped at an instant. As the creatures' fangs were centimeters away from his neck.
WOOSH!!!
A giant flash appeared from above taking off the whole head of the creature, The entirety of the head of the serpent was gone. It wasn't just a bit of the head or a piece of it seemed like the whole head had completely disintegrated entirely.
Unbelievable.
It was the only word that came to mind as all Shinya felt was the fiery heat of something he couldn't tell what it was pass by his head just in front of the serpent and then the serpents head was completely gone.
Shinya began to look around him looking to his left and then to his right and up above and up above he saw it. He saw the same silhouette that he had saw once before the silhouette of what seemed to be like a fairy tale type of creature. It was once again the same elf that he had once saw before but here it was helping him out. With long limbs and a beautiful face that seemed to be other worldly or ethereal. With the pointy ears and long eye lashes and an outfit looked like it was straight up made from a tree and ingredients straight from nature. The most stunning feature of the creature though was the bright pale beautiful color of it that seemed to be the same as the bright moonlight.
This elflike creature had helped them. For what purpose could it have helped them for what reason what was its intentions behind doing this? Shinya could only wonder this and keep on going as he finally noticed the arrow that seemed to take the serpents head off in the distance to the right of him.
It was an arrow of absolute beauty with a long thin golden middle with feathers looking so soft and white at the end, and a metal like tip with bright blue fire surrounding it even though it's in the water you could see the fire through it.
Perhaps a fire that would never go out Shinya wasn't sure at all about any of this or any of what just happened it was unreal.
Though just as the man had appeared he disappeared just as fast leaving Shinya with just more questions than answers.
