"We have a few contingencies in place, but I don't want anything bad happening to Eugene. Grandpa said only a few things can go wrong during the ritual." Claude shrugged his shoulders and got up from his seat. "Does the Student Council need something from me?"

"Not much. I came to give you an update… and ask if you want to meet the other candidates." She hummed, fishing her phone from her pocket as if feeling it vibrate. "The candidates are all independent, but they sometimes form groups to ease the price and strain of campaigning. Seniors like us are often discouraged from joining, especially when we've already won. However, we can support others."

Claude stared at her for a moment, especially when she also stared at him. He then sighed. "You don't have to campaign for me. I'm only going through the motion for formality."
