A BAR!?

The word shot out of me immediately I heard it, my voice bouncing against the tinted windows of Seth's car. My jaw practically hit my lap as we rolled to a halt in front of a place that looked way too expensive for any of us.

Not just any bar either. This was the kind of place with golden lights glowing on marble columns, glass doors that gleamed so clean you could check your eyeliner in them, and a giant neon sign overhead that screamed: You don't belong here if you still have homework.

I blinked again, just to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks. Nope. Still a bar.

Beside me, Guz looked like he had just been handed the keys to heaven itself. "Oh, man. This is it," he said, puffing up his chest. "This place is legendary. Remember I told you about when Mum's boyfriend brought us here? They had everything—live band, food that looked like art, even those bowling lanes with glowing pins."
