CHAPTER 51
~Rhiannon's POV~
I was half expecting one or all of them to come barging into my room after that message, but a minute passed, then two, then five, ten, thirty, and even an hour. None of them came.
Maybe they were smarter than I thought, or maybe they simply didn't care enough to confront me. Either way, the silence stretched on, and I found myself alone with my thoughts and the growing ache in my stomach.
The rumbling started quietly at first, just a small protest from my belly. But as another hour passed, it became impossible to ignore.
I was almost regretting my dramatic decision to skip dinner and was seriously considering calling one of the maids assigned to me to bring something simple to eat when I heard the door open with the softest of sounds.
I sat up slowly in the darkness, not bothering to turn on the lamp.
