~Kael's POV~
We pulled up to the boutique about twenty minutes later, a quaint shop nestled in the heart of the neighbouring town with elaborate gowns glittering in the display windows.
The afternoon sun caught the sequins and beadwork, making them sparkle like captured starlight.
Rhiannon stepped out of the car, and the deep blue gown she wore caught the light beautifully. I found myself unable to look away, mesmerised by the way she moved, the way the fabric flowed around her.
"Focus," Karl growled in my mind, sensing my distraction. "You're staring."
"I know."
"Then stop. You're going to make her uncomfortable."
I forced myself to look away and guided her toward the entrance, my hand hovering near the small of her back but not quite touching.
The mate bond was still tingling from our earlier moment in her room, making every near-touch feel electric.
