Chapter 117 - Chapter 117: Gods and Kings

"God… is that really her? The Goddess of Judgment?"

A young reporter whispered from behind the camera, her voice trembling with awe as she filmed from the safety of a half-collapsed café in midtown Manhattan. Despite the distant rumble of explosions and smoke rising from every block, the chaos had seemingly paused.

All eyes—human and alien—were fixed on one place.

The rooftop where Bella had descended like divine fire.

"The audience, look—because of her appearance, the Chitauri… they stopped. They actually stopped attacking," the reporter said breathlessly. "Most of them are just… watching her. What kind of pressure is she giving off to make an alien army freeze like that?"

It was a moment unlike anything ever caught on live broadcast. Cameras from drones and rooftops zoomed in, giving millions of viewers across the globe a close-up of the woman in black, standing tall with her long golden hair flowing behind her, her presence heavier than any explosion.

A goddess had landed. And the world held its breath.

---

Elsewhere, on a ravaged street in Hell's Kitchen, Daredevil swung his batons with deadly precision, striking down a Chitauri warrior with a crack to the skull. He paused only briefly to catch his breath before hearing the sudden murmur of excitement from the civilians and police behind him.

Then—he heard her name.

"The Goddess of Judgment has arrived!"

The blind hero's head lifted. Though he couldn't see her, his extraordinary senses picked up every detail: the silence of the invaders, the shift in heartbeats, the rush of wind as weapons were lowered out of fear.

His face lit up with relief. "She's here…"

Nearby, Jessica Jones scoffed as she tore through two more aliens with her bare hands. "Took her long enough."

Luke Cage, covered in dust and blood, grunted, "Doesn't matter. She came. That's enough."

The Defenders, war-weary and outnumbered, had been fighting tooth and nail to hold their ground. But now, with Bella's arrival, a surge of hope ran through the streets like wildfire.

From police barricades to hidden resistance pockets, from rooftop snipers to subway survivors—cheers broke out.

---

On a distant rooftop, Tony Stark hovered silently, his red and gold MK armor flickering with damage. His brow was cut and bleeding, and his voice carried exhaustion.

He dropped his visor, revealing a small, half-smile. "Well," he said as he hovered near Bella, "it's a good thing you didn't miss the party."

Chitauri fire had stopped.

Just her presence alone had paused the entire war. It gave Tony, and many others, a moment to breathe.

Bella's gaze didn't leave the portal in the sky. Her voice, smooth but heavy with power, echoed softly, "You didn't find Loki yet?"

"No," Tony admitted. "He's hiding. Thor's out searching, but no luck."

Bella said nothing at first. Her eyes narrowed. Then, with practiced ease, she closed her eyes and activated her supernatural senses.

---

In that instant, the entire city's voice rushed into her mind.

The screams of the injured, the cries of children, the shouts of resistance fighters, the hiss of energy blasts, the boom of collapsing buildings—all of it filled her consciousness.

But she wasn't overwhelmed.

She focused.

She knew Loki. His style, his arrogance, his need to observe the chaos he created. He wouldn't run away. Not without watching.

He was still in New York.

He had to be.

Seconds passed.

Five.

Ten.

Thirty.

The Chitauri, unable to restrain themselves for long, began to move again. Their leaders growled commands. And like a broken dam, the alien army surged forward once more.

Hundreds, maybe thousands, of Chitauri warriors leapt back into combat.

Motherships shaped like monstrous insects closed in on Bella's rooftop from every direction.

---

Tony glanced toward her, his instincts screaming.

"J.A.R.V.I.S.—status?!"

"Sir," came the reply, "All missile reserves are depleted. Only laser weapons remain."

Tony sighed. "Wonderful. A bright spot in the dark."

"I do detect sarcasm, sir."

"Good to know my AI still has a sense of humor."

As they bantered, the skies darkened with enemy ships. Lasers and projectiles began raining down again.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The war resumed.

Viewers around the world watched in absolute silence. Millions were glued to their screens—some crying, some praying, all waiting for the next miracle.

---

Then Bella opened her eyes.

Her pupils gleamed gold, brighter than any light in the sky.

Her voice was a whisper, but it cut through the noise.

"Found him."

Tony turned sharply. "Where?"

Her answer came cold and precise.

"The basement of S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters."

---

As she spoke, Bella grasped the sword strapped at her back—the Oath of Victory, forged from divine energy.

She raised the blade skyward.

And then—

She swung.

---

BOOM!

A blinding golden slash tore across the sky, cutting a glowing path 10,000 meters long. The air trembled. The sky cracked. And with it—

The Chitauri army was annihilated.

The golden arc devoured everything in its path—ships, troops, artillery, and even an approaching mothership. One after another, alien crafts exploded in fire and metal, vaporized in the radiant energy of the slash.

Screams erupted from every corner of the alien ranks.

Tony stared in shock. He had seen Thor summon lightning, seen Hulk rip through tanks—but this?

This was divine.

---

The sky turned gold.

Not from sunlight.

But from the aftershock of her attack, which bathed all of Manhattan in a shimmering ocean of light.

Bodies rained down like ash.

The ground shook beneath their weight.

On that rooftop, Bella stood like a war goddess, sword in hand, cloaked in black armor. Her long hair whipped behind her like a cape.

Her face—still calm. Unforgiving.

It wasn't just power.

It was judgment.

---

The world gasped.

Even the bravest soldiers, hardened commanders, and lifelong skeptics stared at their screens in total silence.

And then—

Applause.

Cheering.

From Times Square to Tokyo, Cairo to Buenos Aires, people screamed and cried and cheered like never before.

"OH MY GOD!"

"SHE DID IT! SHE WIPED THEM OUT!"

"She's not a superhero… she's a god. A king. Our king!"

They had no words to describe it, no comparisons to draw. So instinct took over.

The people shouted, they screamed, they cried.

---

On that day, in that moment, humanity watched a miracle unfold.

A single woman stood against a fleet of alien invaders... and won.

Bella—the Goddess of Judgment—had unleashed her wrath.

And the world would never forget.
