Chapter 38 - Chapter Thirty-Eight: Run, Guoguo, Run!

At Xun'er's self-reflection, everyone involuntarily rolled their eyes; even the utterly exhausted Lin De felt the sudden urge to raise his middle finger.

Almost simultaneously, Pighead No. 3 let out a ferocious roar, his crimson demonic eyes glowing in the night like a pair of monstrous lanterns.

As the oppressive demon aura descended, Nuonuo nervously gulped and stammered, "Boss, I suddenly feel like we should…"

"Run!" Lin De cried out in alarm and bolted first. The others immediately scattered like startled birds.

With a thunderous roar, Pighead No. 3 sprang forward with explosive strength in his hind legs, launching his massive bulk like a charging mountain of flesh.

Chen Mo's heart seized in panic. He instinctively reached out—but grasped nothing but air.

Before he could react, Benben had already leapt into the air of its own accord, transforming midair into a steel slab several meters wide. Bathed in dazzling green light, it plummeted with a resounding crash.

"Huh? Since when did you become so proactive?" Chen Mo blinked in surprise, unleashing an arc of lightning while murmuring, "Don't tell me… have you been watching patriotic films lately?"

"Cut the crap! You'd smash me anyway, so I might as well do it myself!" Benben wailed in grievance as it came down like a divine stamp, slamming Pighead No. 3 into a staggering stumble.

Even before the echo of the impact faded, Nuonuo had unleashed a deafening sonic wave, raising clouds of dust and forcing Pighead No. 3 to howl and shake his massive head in disorientation.

Cheche seized the opportunity, accelerating like a missile. With a mighty crash, the several-ton white pig was hurled into the air, slamming into the ground and leaving a crater nearly a meter deep.

"Got him—" But the cheer was cut short. The toppled Pighead No. 3 sprang up again with a deafening roar that split the night sky.

The once-dense clouds scattered as moonlight poured down like a divine blade, merging with the demonic core he exhaled from his maw.

Within seconds, the grotesque pig demon regained vitality, surging forth like a rampaging tank. His whip-like tail lashed out, tearing a tree from the ground and hurling it like a javelin.

Seeing the tide turning, Chen Mo dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the projectile—but the villa behind him wasn't so lucky. The tree struck with crushing force, turning the building into a structural hazard.

And that was merely the beginning.

Pighead No. 3, now entirely deranged, rampaged through the luxurious compound like a demon of destruction. Wherever he passed, dust flew and walls crumbled.

Chen Mo cursed under his breath, forced to tail him in the car, sporadically firing arcs of electricity in hopes of drawing attention.

But the beast had lost all reason. Drawn by human presence, it rampaged toward the living room.

Nuonuo suddenly let out a cry. "Boss, do you think Sister Rong might—wait, crap! That is Sister Rong!"

Damn the law of jinxes—no sooner had the words left her mouth than Lei Zhen and Ye Rong came fleeing from the living room, guarded by over a dozen bodyguards.

But Pighead No. 3 was faster, barreling through the storm of bullets and lunging at the staggering Lei Zhen.

Ye Rong had already run ahead a few steps. But upon seeing Lei Zhen about to be trampled, she hesitated—and turned back.

Thanks to her desperate tug, Lei Zhen narrowly avoided the beast's hooves. But the demon pig showed no mercy; its trunk lunged straight at Ye Rong!

"Damn it!" Chen Mo shouted, powerless from afar. In a panic, he grabbed the nearest object and hurled it.

Unfortunately for Guoguo, he was that object—arcing through the sky like a doomed satellite.

"Boss, wrong throw! I'm no brick—what the hell is this?!" Guoguo wailed.

Just before hitting the ground, Guoguo instinctively opened his lid—and bit down on something.

Click!

The massive pig paused mid-lunge, slowly turning its head.

In that instant, the world fell silent.

Chen Mo stared up at the sky, dumbfounded. "Nuonuo… am I seeing things, or did Guoguo just bite…"

Silence. Eerie silence.

All eyes turned to Guoguo, who was wobbling dazedly—still clamped onto the pig's massive tail.

Seconds passed. With a sharp crack, the tail snapped like a whip—and the electric cooker crashed to the ground.

Staring at the tail fragment in his mouth, then up at the pig's thunderous expression, Guoguo blinked innocently. "Not my fault! It was just a reflex—wait, help, help!"

His scream pierced the heavens. With a burst of speed, Guoguo vaulted over the wall and fled toward the open wilderness.

Bellowing in fury, Pighead No. 3 abandoned everyone else, bulldozing through the fence in hot pursuit.

Somehow—miraculously—Guoguo was even faster, bouncing into the open plains in the blink of an eye.

Nuonuo stared in awe. "Incredible. I believe it now—potential really does explode under pressure."

"Explode your head!" Chen Mo kicked her gloating phone aside and raced after the beast in Cheche, edging ever closer under the moonlight.

He suddenly flung his palms wide. The stored electric energy surged forth, unleashing arcs of dark-blue lightning that slithered like dragons, each one slamming into the demon pig's skull.

No matter how tough its hide, being struck relentlessly soon left Pighead No. 3 bloodied and torn.

And yet, bizarrely, the beast seemed to see only Guoguo—obsessed with revenge, it roared and chased with single-minded fury.

"You traitors! Cowards! None of you are helping me!" Guoguo had run out of steam and was now just circling a small hill, screaming desperately.

Chen Mo, no longer worried, leisurely zapped away like he was playing whack-a-mole. "It's not that we don't want to help—it's just, you're not dead yet. But hey—any volunteers to swap places?"

In perfect sync, the three electric appliances stepped back. Utterly devoid of loyalty.

Guoguo wanted to cry. Fine, I should just go slam myself into a wall. All that loot-sharing for what?!

Fortunately, after a hundred strikes from the blue lightning, Pighead No. 3 began to stagger, clearly nearing collapse.

Coughing up a mouthful of blood, he finally seemed to regain a shred of sanity—and turned with a howl toward his true enemy.

Chen Mo, mid-zap and relaxed, blinked in surprise as the beast reversed course.

Thankfully, Cheche was lightning-fast, retreating at full speed even as Pighead No. 3 lunged forward.

Guoguo, still doing laps around the hill, hadn't even noticed the shift. Nuonuo and Benben exchanged glances, then nodded in unison. "We saw nothing."

"You want new owners or what?!" Chen Mo rolled his eyes and turned Cheche back toward the hill. Looks like it was Guoguo's turn to be the mole.

Suddenly, the dim night sky burst into golden brilliance, illuminating the clouds with divine radiance.

The appliances gaped skyward—and cheered in unison. "Boss! You don't need to run anymore—your Holy Gold Armor has arrived!"

"Holy your face," Chen Mo muttered, but he already knew who it was.

A heartbeat later, wind swirling around her flowing hair, Jiadi descended from the heavens. Her blue eyes shimmered with frost, and her golden scepter lit the sky.

"O Goddess of Wisdom," she intoned, "grant me the power of righteous war, that I may cleanse this world of all evil and filth!"

Blinding holy light coalesced into a golden spear, which descended with her sacred chant.

A tide of divine power surged through the air. In a burst of radiance, the spear struck with divine fury.

Silence followed.

Then the pig demon, shrinking rapidly under the blue glow, let out a pained wail and collapsed at last.

As the light faded, the once-furious demon was no more—reverting to a chubby, pink pet pig.

Jiadi, still holding her scepter, was poised to strike again—but paused at the sight of the adorable creature. Her hand involuntarily reached for her checkbook.

Pighead No. 3, wisely sensing opportunity, turned teary-eyed toward her. "Wuuuu... I'm just a poor, helpless pig... why are you bullying me?"

"…That's a pretty fast transformation," Chen Mo muttered, a sudden urge rising to fry it into lard cakes.

But Jiadi's expression shifted. Slowly raising her scepter again, her eyes locked onto the pig with chilling calm.

Under her cold stare, Pighead No. 3 immediately shut his mouth and swallowed hard. "Uhh… I don't taste good. Really."

"I have no interest in eating you," Jiadi said coolly. "But what are you hiding inside your body?"

Seconds ticked by. Then she turned to Chen Mo and murmured, "Mo, something's wrong. I can sense the aura of the Pandora's Box inside this pig."

"The Pandora's Box?" Chen Mo was stunned. He recalled Jiadi had mentioned it to Li Zhi—it was, after all, the very reason she'd come to China.

"The divine relic of the gods," she nodded gravely. "At this rate, I may need to perform a dissection…"

"No! Please don't!" A trembling voice cried out. From behind a boulder, a thin figure stumbled into view.

Upon seeing her, Pighead No. 3 burst into tears and ran forward.

"Master! Master! They want to eat me! They want to cut me open! I'm a protected species, level two!"

"Don't be afraid, Little Three! I won't let them hurt you!" The woman—frail and snow-pale—gently embraced the pig.

Chen Mo narrowed his eyes, a faint smile playing on his lips. "If I'm not mistaken, you must be Miss Lei Ying. And this so-called demon rampage… was merely a self-directed comedy performance?"
