After several days of travel, Yukina finally reached the Kirigakure border base in the Land of Water
When Yukina arrived at the base, she was greeted by Mei, who escorted her to the main tent, where Hebiki and the other leaders of the Security Border Unit awaited her.
When they entered the main tent, Hebiki, Shiro, and Kira greeted Yukina with small smiles, and Hebiki rose to welcome her personally.
"Welcome to the Border Security Unit, Yukina. We were notified of your arrival earlier today. Please, have a seat."
Yukina offered Hebiki a small smile, bowed respectfully to him and the others, then took a seat on the ground beside Mei.
Hebiki settled down next to Kira and Shiro; he took a brief pause and said, "Mei's told me plenty about you, Yukina. I've been wanting to meet you for a while, but I didn't expect our first meeting to be here. Fate sure works in unpredictable ways, huh, girl?"
Yukina giggled at Hebiki's words but remained silent, listening intently to what he was about to say.
When Hebiki noticed Yukina had chosen to remain silent, he smiled in appreciation and carried on.
"In the Security Border Unit, there are 30 teams assigned to patrol the border, and you will be joining one of them."
"I won't go into the details about the border patrol teams. Your team captain will explain how the system works, so you don't need to worry."
"Since you're friends with my daughter Mei, it would be best for you to join her patrol team, which is led by my younger brother."
"This approach will help you integrate with the team more smoothly and quickly."
Upon hearing Hebiki's decision, Shiro and Kira nodded in agreement.
Yukina shrugged in response to Hebiki's decision. "Honestly, it doesn't matter which team I'm assigned to. You three lead this unit, and my role is simply to carry out your orders to the best of my ability."
After hearing Yukina's words, Hebiki, Shiro, and Kira exchanged amused glances. Hebiki chuckled softly before giving his order to Mei.
"Mei, introduce Yukina to your uncle and teammates. Your team shift will start soon, so this is the perfect opportunity to familiarize her with border patrol duties."
Mei gave her father a respectful nod, and together with Yukina, they bowed to the trio before stepping out of the main base tent.
Kira glanced at Hebiki and Shiro after Mei and Yukina left the tent and said, "This little girl is quite interesting, don't you think?"
Hebiki and Shiro let out a quiet chuckle at his words, exchanging a glance before nodding toward Kira.

With Yukina and Mei
As soon as Mei and Yukina stepped out of the main base tent, Mei took Yukina to meet the members of her team.
While the two were walking, Mei and Yukina chatted and shared a few laughs.
They soon arrived at a medium-sized tent and stepped inside without hesitation.
Upon entering the tent, Yukina spotted Aoi, Mangetsu, Koko, and three other shinobi.
Yukina recognized two of the three shinobi; they were the apprentices of Jinin Akebino and Jinpachi Munashi of the seven ninja swordsmen.
Over the past few months, Yukina had teamed up with both of them on a few missions.
Taichi Nakanishi is Jinin Akebino's apprentice; he is twelve years old.
Taichi is a sturdy, muscular boy. Despite his young age, his presence exudes the quiet confidence of someone far older. Clad in the traditional Kirigakure Chunin attire, the fabric fits snugly, hinting at the strength coiled beneath.

At first glance, his face seemed unremarkable, but the massive weapon strapped to his back immediately drew attention: a huge silver axe and a large black hammer, fused by a thick, heavy black chain, radiating an aura of raw power and latent danger.
Taichi's weapon had been specially forged by Jinin Akebino himself; though it resembled a Kabutowari, its quality was a far cry from the real thing.
Next to Taichi sat Oda Kazumasa, Jinpachi Munashi's apprentice. He is a handsome boy, roughly the same age as Taichi.
Oda, a newly promoted chunin who had passed the chunin exam a few months ago alongside Taichi, wore the traditional Kirigakure chunin attire and carried a cleaver-like blade on his back, nearly as tall as he was.
Oda had long black hair tied in a ponytail, with sharp eyebrows framing his fair skin. His piercing blue eyes fixed intently on Mei and Yukina, while his lean, muscular physique hinted at both his agility and strength.
Yukina smiled at Oda and Taichi. "Well, well, I never thought I'd end up on the same team with you two again. Just don't get in my way this time."
Oda and Taichi's faces darkened with anger at Yukina's remark, and Oda barked back at her.
"Yukina, are you courting death? I won't hold back this time just because you're a girl and still a genin."
Yukina giggled when she heard Oda's words and replied.
"I don't care about ranks, Oda. Last time you and Taichi ganged up on me, I left you both half-dead. I spared you because I believed one day you might actually become strong enough to give me a real fight."
"If you two actually think you can give me a real fight now, then show me what you've got; stop wasting my time."
Taichi and Oda's expressions darkened at Yukina's words, yet neither dared to respond.
Mei and a handsome, red-haired man of middle age watched the interaction between Yukina, Oda, and Taichi, their eyes gleaming with amusement.
"COUGH, COUGH."
The red-haired middle-aged man faked a cough and got everyone's attention.
Yukina's eyes lit up when she saw the handsome, red-haired middle-aged man.
Mei turned to Yukina and started introducing the red-haired middle-aged man to her.
"Yukina-chan, this is my uncle; his name is Kodai Terumi and he is the captain of our team."
Yukina was mesmerized at how handsome Kodai was, she never seen anyone this handsome before. "Oh my, this man is incredibly handsome; he is my type."
Kodai had long, dark crimson hair that fell to his shoulders, sharp eyebrows, and fair skin. His piercing violet eyes glinted with intensity, reflecting the depth of his experience as a shinobi.
His lean, muscular physique reflected the discipline he had honed as a shinobi, and he wore the traditional attire of a Kirigakure Jonin.
Yukina offered Kodai a small, elegant smile, bowed gracefully, and spoke in a calm, measured tone.
"Kodai-san, it's a pleasure to meet you, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to team up with you. I look forward to working with you."
Kodai chuckled in amusement when he heard Yukina's words and then spoke.
"Calm down, little girl. If you ever need anything, Mei or I will always be here to help."
"For now, let me walk you through how things work at the border, since you've just joined our Border Security Unit and are still getting familiar with the system."
Yukina nodded at Kodai's words and focused her attention on him.
When Kodai saw that Yukina was paying attention to him, he started his explanation.
"There are 30 teams, including ours, responsible for border patrol, each assigned duties according to the schedule created by our Border Security Unit leaders."
"Mei and your teammates will explain your tasks for the patrol. Mei mentioned that you're a skilled sensory ninja, so I'm confident you'll perform well on this mission."
Yukina smiled at the compliment and gave Kodai a small nod.
"For now, I will explain our standard battle formation, in case we end up facing Suna shinobi."
"Based on the information I received about you, you specialize in close-to-mid-range combat, so you will join Mangetsu, Oda, and Taichi to confront our foes head-on."
"Since Mei and I specialize in mid- to long-range combat, we will provide backup for the four of you when you engage our foes."
"As for Koko, she will support us from the back line using her genjutsu. Any questions?"
Yukina shook her head, having grasped the team's standard battle formation. She couldn't help but be impressed by Kodai's team's standard battle formation.
Kodai nodded in satisfaction, seeing that Yukina and the rest of his team had clearly grasped the standard battle formation, and then he continued.
"If we end up facing a powerful foe, we'll shift our formation. I'll engage them head-on, backed by Mei, Yukina, Mangetsu, Oda, and Taichi, while Koko supports us from the backline with her genjutsu."
Yukina nodded in understanding alongside her teammates, and then Mangetsu spoke up.
"What formation should we use if we end up fighting against multiple teams or troops?"
Kodai smiled at the question and replied.
"You don't need to worry. If this scenario occurs, the other teams on duty will come to our aid, and even the Border Security Unit leaders will take action themselves."
"If Suna actually sends a large troop to our border, our spies within Suna will alert us before they even arrive, and Mizukage-sama will dispatch our seven ninja swordsmen along with our Jinchūriki to assist us."
Mangetsu let out a relieved sigh, whereas Yukina's excitement grew with each word, and she couldn't help but speak softly to herself.
'This mission is going to be so much fun! I hope Suna sends someone interesting to fight. I think it's finally time to unveil my new sword art invented.'
'This sword art isn't quite perfected yet, though I might find the inspiration I need to perfect it during this mission.'
'Also, I might finally be able to break into the Soul Sword realm in this mission. I've been trapped at the peak of the Heart Sword realm for four months, unable to make any progress in my sword cultivation."
'I've touched the surface of the Soul Sword realm a few times and managed to create sword qi on several occasions, but I always failed to fully breakthrough to the Soul Sword realm.'
Yukina snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Kodai say.
"Alright, our shift will be starting soon. Everyone, get ready. Mei, I want you to accompany Yukina and explain what will be expected of her during patrol duty."
Mei nodded, and then all Kodai team members exited the tent.
