Chapter 1:

"A bright moon is born on the sea, from the ends of the earth..."

What comes after "the ends of the earth"? Is it "we share this moment," or "we are neighbors"?

Vladimir was using his limited poetic knowledge to try and recall what he learned back in his student days.

This was one of the few pleasures he had left.

He had inexplicably transmigrated to this world, to a vast and boundless ocean. He was all alone, no, all alone as a dragon. Besides gazing at the blue sky and swimming in the sea, there wasn't much else he could do.

Poets described the ocean as beautiful, magnificent, and vibrant, but experiencing it firsthand revealed that it was all bullshit.

The ocean was too vast, so vast that even after transforming into a "sea dragon" twenty meters long, he had been swimming for a full week without seeing even a trace of land.

Of course, there were advantages to being a dragon. At least he didn't have to worry about being targeted by the ferocious sea beasts in the ocean.

Vladimir tentatively called it "Dragon's Might." A few days ago, a short-sighted sea serpent-like creature, over thirty meters long, had its eyes on him, but it was scared away with just a glare.

In addition to that, the sea dragon also possessed a unique ability: "controlling seawater."

The source of this power seemed to be the two horns on the dragon's head. With just a thought, Vladimir could gather massive amounts of water, summoning wind and rain, possessing a presence reminiscent of the dragons in myths and legends.

"The only problem is, how do I turn back into a human? Am I going to be stuck as a sea dragon forever? In myths and legends, dragons can transform into humans, right? Like the Dragon Girl..."

While mentally grumbling about the story and the Dragon Girl, a subtle voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

"Forced transformation remaining time: 1 hour."

"Huh?" Vladimir was taken aback. His dragon body twisted, causing towering waves on the sea. Alarmed, he quickly calmed his mind, finally allowing the waves to subside.

"Who's there?" he composed himself and asked.

"Please host absorb more 'Mysterious Power' to unlock more transformations."

The mysterious voice didn't sound human. It was emotionless and cold, like a machine.

"Wait, transformations? What are you?"

"The Sea Dragon is just one of many transformations. More power is required to unlock more powerful transformations."

After a pause, the voice continued, "Each transformation, once activated, will be forcibly maintained for seven days. During this time, the host cannot cancel it."

Vladimir finally understood. "So, in one hour, I can turn back into a human? Come to think of it, what exactly are you?"

"I am the Fantasy Gene. With enough 'Mysterious Power,' the host can transform into any creature from fantasy."

"I see..."

A glimmer of understanding flashed in Vladimir's eyes. In short, it was probably some kind of mysterious gene.

This gene had merged with him, allowing him to transform into any fantasy creature, provided he had a certain amount of energy.

"One last question," he thought for a moment and asked, "Where is this?"

"This is..."

The voice gradually faded away and then disappeared from his mind.

Vladimir opened his mouth, speechless.

Just as he was about to try calling out again, his ears twitched slightly. He suddenly "heard" sounds from several nautical miles away.

This wasn't some incredible ability. It was probably similar to hearing sounds from tens of meters away in human form.

As long as he was in the sea, his sea dragon transformation allowed him to sense a very large area. He hadn't seriously studied exactly how large.

"Is that... a ship?"

Vladimir calmed his mind, extending his senses into the distance while focusing his gaze.

He could see blurry shadows, roughly the shape of ships, and large ships at that, two of them.

"If there are ships, there are people! I'll go take a look!"

Vladimir was a little excited. He could finally meet people. But when he thought about the fact that he couldn't cancel his transformation yet, he had no choice but to approach quietly from beneath the surface.

The sea dragon's swimming speed was extremely fast, faster than any ship he knew.

In just a few minutes, he had already submerged beneath the two ships.

As he got closer, he could more clearly feel the shape and appearance of the two ships.

One of them was very peculiar. The bottom of the ship didn't seem to have any mechanical propulsion structure. Instead, it was being carried by two giant sea serpents.

As for the other one, it was even more peculiar. It wasn't an ironclad ship, and it didn't resemble any sailing ship Vladimir knew. However, there were many cannons on the deck, clearly a warship of some kind.

"That's a bit familiar. Is that a pirate flag?"

The sea dragon's vision pierced through the seawater, landing on the deck of one of the ships. A flag was hanging from the top of the main mast.

Suddenly, Vladimir felt two gazes. Then, two huge snake heads plunged into the water, facing him from a distance of a dozen meters.

Hiss...

One of the snake heads flicked its tongue, issuing some kind of warning.

"Shut up!"

Vladimir glared, conveying a certain meaning in his eyes.

The two large snakes were indeed startled, and then they fell silent, not daring to act rashly.

"Lucky for you that you didn't run." Vladimir muttered. He had encountered many large marine creatures before, and they basically ran away as soon as they saw him.

These two snakes were considered to have strong wills.

As he was thinking this, he once again focused his attention on the ships.

On the deck of one of the ships stood a woman, tall and slender, with delicate, fair skin, long, black hair, and an incredibly exquisite face, like a fairy from a painting.

"Hancock-sama, Salome seems a bit strange," next to the woman, another female said in a low voice.

The Salome she was referring to was a large python with pink spots, completely lacking the ferocity of a python and instead resembling a pet.

Hearing this, the woman called Hancock also frowned slightly, looking at her pet with a puzzled expression.
