Chapter 45 - Sheldon's Best Friend

Not long after, Jimmy was chatting and laughing with other classmates who had sat next to him. Most of them were just being opportunistic, but isn't it interesting to know what they were after?

Most of them wanted Jimmy to do their homework—but that time was over. He was now a businessman, someone far above these people, and that's why he would soon graduate.

His time at school had been shorter than expected. What came next was his university years. He sincerely hoped they would be more interesting and would also give him more freedom to work on his projects.

From a distance, Jimmy could see two girls chatting and laughing together. Every now and then, their eyes would turn toward him.

"I can't wait for vacation," he thought.

"Yeah, I've got a lot of things to do," said Sheldon, who now seemed to be in a better mood.

Now that he finally had his computer, he wanted to do a lot with it and was eagerly looking forward to finishing school.

Jimmy, on the other hand, wanted to be out of school because the program he had participated in was going to be aired soon. If life was stressful now, he couldn't imagine what would happen once his face appeared on television.

Staying anonymous hadn't worked out as he'd hoped; however, he had some good ideas to fix that. The first was to create a holographic facial mask that would change subtle features, making him unrecognizable. That way, as long as people didn't know him in person, they wouldn't notice the similarity.

He also planned to attend the closest university—closer to home and to his company.

The facilities were enormous, and his partner, who was excited about the whole "digital immortality" idea, had been willing to invest a hundred million dollars up front just to become a manager.

Plus, there was still his long list of contacts, who would surely open their wallets without hesitation.

"Jimmy, I've got something that might interest you." At that moment, George Jr. approached with a flyer in hand and laid it on the table.

"Robot fights?" Sheldon had no idea something so amazing even existed.

"The tournament is in five months. The grand prize for the champion is one million dollars," said George Jr., clearly excited—he knew all about Jimmy's robots, especially his dog and Baymax.

Jimmy knew exactly what George Jr. was talking about—after all, he had heard of the tournaments from his closest friends.

Robot fights are competitions where robots specifically designed for combat face off in a closed arena. These robots are built by engineers, hobbyists, or students and can be remotely controlled or have some degree of autonomy. Their main goal is to destroy, disable, or push their opponent out of the combat area.

Jimmy, who had never been interested in these things, thought for a moment and asked,

"Would you be willing to help me?"

"Of course—as long as you give me just 10% of the winnings, I'll do anything you need," George Jr. replied with a genuine smile. But when Jimmy stayed silent, he cleared his throat and said, "Okay... I'll settle for 5%."

"That's perfect. I'll build you a robot," said Jimmy, who had become a bit stingy. He smiled deliberately and returned to class.

Sheldon, feeling a bit proud of himself, said, "I'll join too."

"Forget it. The entry fee is ten thousand dollars. Besides, the chances of you winning against a robot built by Jimmy are zero," George Jr. poured cold water on his brother's idea.

Sheldon thought quietly, "I didn't really want to join anyway…"

Without anyone noticing, Sheldon didn't eat lunch that day.
