Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO (THE beginning of the end)

A mist my tears, I lift my head off her blossom to look at her, as she subbed silently.

"I want to see them. I said sniffling, wiping my tears with my hands then my wiped my hand down my gown.

"okay, you will, she said nodding in aproval

 - go, take your bath, I'll talk to your grandpa to get the wagon ready she said looking at the clock to see what the time said. Then she stood up leave, she walked to the door then stopped suddenly, then she looked back at me adjusting her glasses to sit well on her nose bridge.

"everything is going to be alright" she said with a little bit of doubt and assurance in her voice. Cause we both know everything is far from alright, she had just lost her son her only son. I nod back at her tears still trickling down my face. Then the reached for the door knob, twist it open gently then she left closing the door behind her.

I've never lost any one close to me before so I didn't know how to feel. The feeling was heavy on my heart and I had so many questions, like what killed them and what kind of business took them to Duskhaven.

The sun was mid up people were going about their business in the streets and the day had just kicked off. I was reluctant, all I wanted to do was lay in bed all day I soak my pillow in tears. But I needed to see them, the last time I saw my parent I was thirteen, they came around anytime they could and I loved it. I looked forward to seeing them and listening to stories from their adventures.

After a couple of minutes I was done, I rolled my hair into a bun and stuck a hairpin in it to hold it down, I rubbed my skin with olive oil. The sun rays cutting through my window. I stood in from of the mirror my face was pale, I bent down to pick my gown to cover my naked body, gently I slip my arms into the gown, covering half of my breast as the fabric tickled my nipple, then I slid in my other arm wearing the gown completely. My breast firm underneath the gown, adding a curvy valley from my hips to my chest. I tied up my belt around my waist. Taking one last look at the mirror, then I slid my legs into my slipper, took one deep breath and head downstairs.

By the time I got downstairs my grandpa and Grandmother where outside waiting in the wagon. I sat down silently beside my meemaw sadness wrriten all over my face, calmly she stretched her arms around me holding me close to her. My grandpa looked at me sympathetically - I'm sorry daisy, he said, he's hands on the reigns. My dad was he's only son, and this was a huge loss for him than it was for me. He jerked on the reigns signaling for the horse to move. Slowly we took of, as we rode into the streets steadily being rocked by the uneven stone on the road.

The town morgue was not so far away. Eryndor is a small remote town, everyone was happy and there was little trouble as everyone went about their business. And people hardly visit the morgue, cuz there where little death cases and people hardly get it trouble. And my parents bodies where sent here from Duskhaven cause someone identified them as a citizen of Eryndor.

After riding for about fifteen minutes, we got to the morgue. It was on the outskirt of town few miles away from the cementary. I highlighted, then I reached out to help my meemaw down the wagon. My grandpa already helped himself down. He then tied the horse to a stand. He tickled the horse's neck while murmuring something to it. Then he turned to us. The look on he's face showed he was trying to be strong for me and my grandma, but i knew he was just as heart broken as the rest of us.

"are you ready?, he asked looking if I needed more time to gather myself. I gave a slight nod while holding grandma's hand. Just then the morgue attendant come out. A middle aged man with a brown mustache which was obvious he had not shaved in a while. He's teeths were yellow and he's shirts dirty. He's been busy I could tell. He had an apron on which I assumed he wore for dressing the dead bodies before they're layed to their final resting place.

"morning sir Solan. I've been expecting you, he said taking he's gloves off and shoving them in he's apron pocket.

"yes... I got your massage. My grandpa said gathering himself and pushing back he's tears.

"I'm Norlan, I cleaned up your son and he's wife's bodies he said taking a few steps towards my grandpa.

"I found something usual about both bodies, and it's really disturbing...come with me he continued.

We followed as he led us into a large room with bodies layed out on the tables and a tag on their big toe.

After walking past a couple of tables we were at their table, my parents layed along side each other. A long black clothing was used in covering them. He walked over and removed the clothes covering their faces.

It was them, my parents dead, looking pale, cold and lifeless. Fear gripped me, my grandma looked away In tears stuffing her mouth with her scarf to cover her mouth. My grandpa put he's hand over he's mouth, he couldn't believe he's eyes, it was true they really are dead.

"When I was examining their body I found something strange. Norlan continued."both of their left wrist were cut off".

He removed the black clothes completely and both of their left wrist was indeed missing.

"I think they were murdered. Norlan said.
