After Roy departed, King Calyrex, who had been meditating with closed eyes for some time, opened them again and looked toward the entrance.

Soon after, Roy and Glastrier appeared at the palace gates.

"It seems you have successfully captured Shelgon," King Calyrex observed.

The king hadn't used foresight—based on experience alone, he could tell from Roy's expression that this trip had yielded satisfactory results.

After Roy settled in and rested briefly, King Calyrex suddenly posed a question.

"Have you determined how to solve Shelgon's problem?"

The Crown King looked at Roy expectantly.

"Yes," Roy nodded, speaking calmly. "There are two methods to address Shelgon's condition."

"The first approach involves providing sufficient resources and energy, allowing Shelgon to gradually develop its internal body and evolve naturally. This is the safest route."

This method would definitely work.

The reason each Pokémon on Roy's team grew stronger so rapidly was because he supplied abundant energy cubes. Otherwise, given the training intensity of Lucario and Electivire, surviving on normal food alone would have killed their cells long ago.

With adequate energy cube provision, Roy estimated Shelgon could evolve into Salamence within two to three years.

Zero risk involved.

In contrast, the second plan carried extreme danger.

"The reason Shelgon cannot evolve is that during the critical cellular transformation period, it absorbed excessive Dynamax energy, causing unknown changes that led to increased body size."

Roy touched his chin while observing King Calyrex.

He had returned urgently to verify something with the Crown King.

"You mentioned that ordinary Dynamax isn't true size enlargement, but merely energy projection."

"However, Shelgon's body underwent actual physical changes."

"Can I assume that its cells absorbed Eternatus's power, leading to genuine size growth?"

Roy presented his theory while studying King Calyrex intently.

King Calyrex must have researched Eternatus's power extensively—possibly at profound levels.

This wasn't Roy's imagination; he had evidence.

The legendary heroes Zacian and Zamazenta, after being trained by King Calyrex, transformed into their "Crowned Sword" and "Crowned Shield" forms, gaining exclusive moves capable of restraining Dynamax:

—Behemoth Blade. —Behemoth Bash.

Furthermore, King Calyrex was the only Pokémon whose body displayed Dynamax energy coloration, showing blue when Dynamaxed.

Even Eternatus itself didn't exhibit this phenomenon.

These facts proved King Calyrex's deep understanding of Dynamax energy.

Roy suspected that King Calyrex might understand Dynamax energy better than even the naturally powerful Eternatus.

This had nothing to do with strength—it was the gap between knowledge and wisdom.

Just as a sword user doesn't necessarily understand the weapon's construction principles, but a blacksmith does.

Indeed.

King Calyrex provided the answer.

"Correct."

"Although Eternatus is an extraterrestrial creature, it still belongs to the Dragon category. Its power maintains some compatibility with Dragon-types. Though only an imperceptibly small fragment, Shelgon's body has indeed absorbed Eternatus's power."

Roy clenched his fists.

Exactly as I thought.

Ordinary Dynamax allowed Pokémon to borrow Dynamax energy for creating energy projections.

Special Dynamax involved short-term energy fusion.

In other words, unlike Mega Evolution which altered life forms, Dynamax was external force never truly absorbed by Pokémon.

Because this was Eternatus's power—toxin from an alien being.

Absorbing even an insignificant amount had completely altered Shelgon's existence.

When ordinary Pokémon absorbed divine power, it seemed like fortune but was actually the beginning of divine punishment.

Electivire served as a perfect example.

Without meeting Roy, its best possible fate would have been spending life in a care facility.

Zekrom's power was acceptable—at least Elekid had genuinely received divine thunder then.

But Eternatus was excessive. Shelgon absorbed just a tiny amount, never even mastered Dynamax, yet grew larger and suffered divine punishment...

After confirming his suspicions with King Calyrex, Roy revealed his second solution.

"What begins with Dynamax energy must naturally end with it," Roy whispered. "I plan to have Shelgon continue absorbing Dynamax energy. I'll use that enormous power to promote the formation of 'Salamence' within its body and ultimately achieve evolution."

"Dynamax energy isn't easily controlled or absorbed," King Calyrex objected.

"Shelgon once suffered severe illness after absorbing Dynamax energy, requiring half a year to recover. This occurred because the Dynamax energy destroyed portions of its body tissue."

As if anticipating this reaction, Roy raised his left hand, revealing his wristband.

The Dynamax Band could eliminate the "violent" will within Dynamax energy, making it peaceful and controllable.

Simultaneously, purple Dragon power emerged in his palm.

"I'll use this power to guide and assist Shelgon in absorbing Dynamax energy."

"This is..."

King Calyrex swept this force with psychic power and quickly recognized its essence.

Dragon-type Pokémon were the most difficult Attribute to breed and tame.

Their temperaments were generally violent and proud, with many examples of turning against their masters.

Once they deemed a trainer unworthy of commanding them, they refused to obey orders.

This trait was reflected even in some pseudo-Dragons like Charizard and Gyarados.

However, those possessing Dragon power could not only enhance Dragon-types' abilities but also suppress and control their violent hearts and genetic instincts.

Those wielding this power were true Dragon Masters.

Dynamax energy belonged to Eternatus and, to some extent, contained Dragon attributes. As long as something was Dragon-type, it couldn't escape Dragon power's restraint.

After losing Eternatus's will, the alien's Dynamax energy would be suppressed by Dragon power.

Simultaneously, it could enhance Shelgon's strength.

Under these balanced conditions, Shelgon had high probability of successfully absorbing Dynamax energy.

"Excellent concept," King Calyrex expressed sincere appreciation.

He suddenly felt that Roy's statement about "your achievements in the trainer field matching mine" wasn't exaggeration.

This human consistently demonstrated unique insights regarding Pokémon breeding approaches.

This insight connected to the knowledge in his mind while reflecting his flexible thinking and bold imagination.

"If it fails..."

"If it fails, worst case scenario is lying down for a while."

Roy shrugged with a helpless smile. "If I choose the first option, neither Shelgon nor I can wait two to three years... that's far too long."

As he finished speaking, Shelgon's Poké Ball at Roy's waist swayed slightly, expressing agreement.

Three years was indeed too long.

By the time Salamence's children could run around, its own evolution would be meaningless.

It craved rapid growth, then confronting that female, telling her dismissively:

You made the wrong choice!

That was all.

It wasn't seeking reconciliation—only reclaiming its dignity!

Sensing Shelgon's firm resolve, Roy glimpsed shadows of a certain legendary beast.

Incredible.

Following Electivire (the fallen genius protagonist) and Metagross (the chosen prodigy protagonist), his team now included the protagonist of broken engagements...
