And yet.
This was of course merely the tip of the iceberg when it came to this cold man - this... cool customer...
He had understood early on that his obsession with avoiding the experience of being cold and getting sick was both a potential strength and a weakness.
On one hand, protecting his body from the stresses of cold and colds would allow him to be healthier in the short term.
But, if he stuck inflexibly to his preference, then his body's capacity to handle changes in temperature would down-regulate in the long run, leading to a kind of 'bubble boy syndrome' where he would grow increasingly susceptible to real-world stresses due to living such a controlled lifestyle.
As a result, he made sure that he challenged his own temperature tolerance using a strict regime of carefully controlled variables. For example, a few times a week he might pat his skin with a cool towel allowing him to experience some variability, or do a short burst of exercise and training to warm up.
He would also touch grass and breathe 100 breaths of outdoor air once a day, in order to expose his immune system to common pathogens.
In short, Clive was a master of micro-management, and his strategy and life's goal was to optimize his body to encounter as little stress as possible whilst at the same time maintaining and fine-tuning function.
As a result, his killing techniques had also been perfected to an Art form...
___
So. You've come." Clive said of course, coldly.
He was as always, of course wearing his trademark puffer jacket and thermal combat gear that ensured that his body temperature was perfectly controlled to his liking...
