Chapter 214 - Bob and Clive’s curations

This raised an interesting question. Was all of this… curation… actually good or bad?

On the plus side, Clive would feel… comfortable.

But nothing was free, and all this comfort would come at an irreversible cost.

The question was: was this price worth it to pay? Was this road one that was correct and good to go down?

We might laugh, but in fact, aside from the minor part about the killing, perhaps Clive wasn't as crazy as he might first appear.

Humans throughout history, due to their lack of awareness, had always in general preferred to align themselves with short term convenience over long term sustainability and growth.

The proliferation of the Convenience Stores, fast food, and lack of regard for the bigger picture were all examples of this preference.

Who didn't want to be healthy quicker? And yet, overuse had led to antibiotic resistance, and MRSA [Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, a bacteria that has become resistant to many common antibiotics].

Who wouldn't want to warm up when they were cold? Increasingly, people were choosing to live in their own comfortable, carefully curated reality - Clive had simply taken this to the next level...
