Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Level Gap, the Use of Points

Throughout the entire summer vacation, Izanami trained with Hinata every day.

Each morning, he would first confirm Ino Yamanaka's location, then use the Transformation Technique to invite Hinata out. Together, they would head to the secluded training grounds, alternating between Tree Climbing practice and taijutsu sparring.

The transformation in Hinata over the course of the summer was nothing short of remarkable. It wasn't just her strength that had improved; her entire demeanor had shifted. The shy, hesitant girl had found confidence, and her newfound sense of self was evident in her every action.

Hiashi Hyuga was the first to notice the change in his eldest daughter. When he learned that Hinata was practicing Water Walking, he realized that her trips outside were not just about socializing. There was serious training involved.

Izayoi's shadow clone also noticed that someone was keeping an eye on him and Hinata. But Izanami didn't try to hide the observation. Instead, he saw it as an opportunity to test Hiashi Hyuga's stance on the matter.

On one particular day, Izanami demonstrated Water Walking for Hinata, showing her the intricacies of the technique. He also showcased the Shadow Clone Technique and Low-Level Wind Release, and even outperformed her in taijutsu sparring. Hinata, however, wasn't discouraged; she was determined to improve.

The next day, Izanami once again transformed into Ino Yamanaka to meet Hinata. When Hinata stepped out, Izanami immediately sensed the shift in Hiashi's attitude. The head of the prestigious Hyuga clan had tacitly given his approval for Hinata's training with Izanami.

Izanami's identity was no secret among the ninja clans. An orphaned commoner from a ninja family, who hadn't even completed three semesters at the Ninja Academy, yet had already mastered techniques like Tree Climbing, Water Walking, Shadow Clone, and Low-Level Wind Release—this was the kind of prodigy that turned heads. His talent, along with his impressive Chakra reserves, marked him as a genius among commoners.

Hinata was thriving under his tutelage. Her progress was visible, from her mastery of Water Walking to the changes in her personality. Hinata had gained more than just physical strength; her confidence had blossomed as well.

While Hiashi Hyuga had hoped for more from his daughter, he hadn't completely given up on her. He still hadn't fully recognized Hanabi's talent, and thus, he hadn't written off Hinata either. He watched Hinata's transformation with quiet approval. Her growth, sparked by her friendship with Izanami, brought him unexpected joy.

As for the possibility of a romantic connection between the two, Hiashi didn't entertain it. First, they were too young, and second, in his eyes, there was no real future for them. The Byakugan could not be allowed to spread beyond the Hyuga Clan. Izanami was simply a tool to help Hinata grow, and Hiashi would intervene if the situation ever became problematic. Unless Izanami proved himself to be extraordinary—like Minato Namikaze—there would be no future for them.

Neither Izanami nor Hinata was aware of Hiashi's thoughts. With the tacit approval from the clan head, Izanami relaxed and continued to teach Hinata. He worked on refining her Three Body Technique, Chakra Control, and, during taijutsu sparring, subtly aimed to trigger Hinata's red entry.

This summer had been a fruitful one for both of them. Hinata had mastered Tree Climbing and Water Walking, and she was well on her way to mastering the Three Body Technique. However, she had yet to learn the Shadow Clone Technique, likely due to her still-developing Chakra reserves. But even more surprising was the enormous boost her Gentle Fist received.

Izanami's medical expertise played a significant role in this. His mother, a Medical Ninja, had left behind scrolls of basic Medical Ninjutsu, which Izanami had already mastered. To stimulate Hinata's red entry, he had pushed her relentlessly—at least at first, giving her time to adjust. But then, he sparred with her intensely, always healing her afterward. He didn't hold back in the slightest.

Hinata, accustomed to being beaten up and then healed, grew stronger with each encounter. Her attacks became more decisive, and she learned to channel Chakra into her strikes with precision. This intense training meant that she would no longer be as hesitant or restrained as she had been in the original timeline, where she lost to her younger sister Hanabi.

Hiashi, seeing the undeniable improvements in his daughter, quietly acquiesced to Izanami and Hinata's continued training together. The changes in Hinata were evident, and Izanami had proven to be a catalyst for that transformation.

Although Izanami had not triggered Hinata's red entry this summer, his own growth was unmistakable. Through constant taijutsu sparring with Hinata, he had mastered the Hyuga Clan's Gentle Fist techniques. His own Chakra control, now enhanced by these techniques, was nearing perfection.

By carefully observing Hiashi, Izanami had also acquired a chart of human acupoints and the Gentle Fist scroll, which he had used to refine his skills in sealing an opponent's Chakra flow by targeting specific pressure points. He wasn't interested in the Eight Trigrams Palm, but this particular aspect of the Gentle Fist was of great value. It could be an invaluable technique in combat.

Although his main goal of triggering Hinata's red entry remained elusive, Izanami had managed to trigger two entries during this summer: one for "Chakra Control," a talent he himself shared, and another that would have far-reaching consequences for his future.

At that moment, a prompt sounded in Izanami's mind:

"Ding! You have obtained the talent entry [Chakra Control (Blue)]. It overlaps with your existing talent entry. Merge or decompose?"

Izanami chose to merge.

After the merger, Chakra Control did not upgrade to purple but remained blue. However, Izanami immediately felt a noticeable improvement in his control over Chakra.

It was then that Izanami finally understood how Sakura Haruno, who had only been training for three years, could surpass Hinata—despite Hinata's lifetime of Gentle Fist practice—and Shizune, who had studied under Tsunade from a young age.

It was the same way that the Ōtsutsuki bloodline, though similar, far surpassed the Hyuga Clan's lineage on the Moon. The difference between blue and purple Chakra Control was profound.

While merging two blue Chakra Control talents would not push it to purple, the real distinction came from Sakura Haruno's unique purple-level Chakra Control. This allowed her to learn complex techniques like Medical Ninjutsu, the Senju Clan's Chakra burst, and the Yin Seal and Hundred Healings Technique—all of which had S-rank difficulty. To achieve this in just three years was a testament to the power of her Chakra Control.

In addition to Chakra Control, Izanami triggered another entry—Bloodline Limit·Byakugan (Purple). However, there was a catch. Bloodline Limit was one thing, but the Byakugan Princess was another. If Izanami didn't have the Byakugan himself, this entry would have only granted him a pair of Byakugan. But because of Hinata's influence, it also enhanced the purity of his Byakugan.

Izanami paused, contemplating. He knew that merging the Byakugan could improve its purity, but it wouldn't be enough to awaken the Reincarnation Eye. Just like how merging two Chakra Control (Blue) wouldn't create a purple-level talent, merging Byakugan entries wouldn't evolve into the Tenseigan. The Ōtsutsuki Clan had sacrificed the Byakugan of their entire branch family in their pursuit of the Reincarnation Eye. The Tenseigan's final form likely combined the Byakugan of the main family as well. The Ōtsutsuki Clan's bloodline purity was greater than that of the Hyuga Clan, and their Byakugan purity was superior.

Izanami realized that even if he merged these two entries, it wouldn't be enough to awaken the Reincarnation Eye. He didn't know how many entries would be required for that, but this combination was a waste of resources.

He wasn't concerned about the Byakugan's purity. After all, he had enough of it already.

Thus, Izanami decided to decompose the Bloodline Limit·Byakugan (Purple) entry.

The result was immediate. He gained over a thousand points, and the talent panel updated:

[Host: Izanami]

[Talent Entries:]Ōtsutsuki Bloodline (Red)Super Kage Potential (Gold)Bloodline Limit·Byakugan (Purple)Full Attribute Constitution (Purple)Medical Genius (Blue) "+"Chakra Control (Blue) "+"[Points: 1791]

The plus signs next to Medical Genius and Chakra Control indicated that they were eligible for upgrades. This meant Izanami could now use his accumulated points to enhance these talents further.
